Balmain Ryde-Eastwood vs. Western Suburbs

Fulltime score was 76-4 to Balmain. 5 tries to Dane Chisholm, Joel Reddy bagged 2 tries, the big Fijian Naiavaryaro got 2 tries, Tuigamala, J Farlow, R Cashmere, T Simona, P Politoni all scored tries while Meaney slotted 10 goals.

Commiseration to Wests who have simply lacked the personnel and resources to make a dent in the comp this year. I hope both teams do not go it alone again next year as I fear one side will be laden with talent while the other will not. Pool the resources and grow as one IMO.

Let's not make this yet another thread which turns ugly. Keep the comments thoughtful, or don't post at all please as several posts in this thread have been deleted already.

Mate I want to see us be one side

I want to see three sides playing next season NYC ,Reggies and NRL

But while the Magpies and Balmain still have their own NSW Cup side I think both sides of the amalgamation should show RESPECT to the other

Good luck to BRET side in the semis Hope you go all the way

Well said HT, I feel the same about having 1 side next year but if we do end up going with both NSW Cup sides IMO they should have all our fringe FG players in the one team as I think it's more beneficial to those fringe players & WT to have them playing in one team instead of splitting them up into two teams. In that case I'd have them play for the Magpies next year & then alternate to BRET the following year. It's not a good look to seem to favor one side of the merger or have the Magpie supporters feel that way.

I'm admittedly a Wests man but a sad sad day. I'd just like to see this resolved once and for all

No injuries and no players on report.

That is all that came out of yesterdays game.

Hoping the final next week is on a Sunday as I have a wedding to attend Saturday afternoon

Can anybody who attends more of these games tell me about Taqele Naiyaravaro?
He tore it apart yesterday, I know not against quality opposition but he seems like a very good player.

I know he was signed by the Tigers at the same time Koroibete was. Taqele was originally a winger but spent most of his first season playing for Wests in State Cup, and then played a handful of NYC games last year. He had a few mistakes in his game and I think was a bit lazy in defence, but he's very damaging with the ball given his size and decent speed for such a big bloke. He tips the scales around 115kg and he's only 21\. Personally I think he's worth persisting with if he can really focus on league and push his training to a higher level. He hasn't obviously developed as quickly as Koroibete has, but I think he's got it in him, and god knows the Tigers could do with some size in the backrow.

100% agree.. We breed them young at WT (lawrence, groat and woods) but they can be well worth it

Same here, could be a Tony Williams style impact player in the near future. Get a bit fitter and slightly higher work rate in defence and he'll be there. Still only young so plenty of time. A game like yesterday would have been perfect for him.
