Ban mad Monday

Humpreys needs to show his authority and say the crap that's been dished up this year won't be tolerated.

If I performed like that for a year there's no way my company would let me go and celebrate.

If any players want to whinge they can find another club.

Harsh. Don't think you can do that sort of thing. However they should certainly not be seen "celebrating" in public after a poor season. Behind closed doors by all means. Perception is reality.

why?? LOL given they havent performed to their potential, they've been crap etc. but guess what? they've busted their guts out all season.. hopefully they forget about the season for the time being.. go back home, freshen up with their families, forget footy and get back raring into the preseason hopefully under new management.

What makes you believe they have 'busted their guts out'? Where is your evidence of this?

It looks to me that they havent worked nearly hard enough this year and pre season. Remember, they were poor right from round 1.

sorry "busted their guts out" didn't get the sentiment i was trying to get out.

this is one day they can forget all about the season. the players need a carefree night and that's what mad monday is all about. no doubt they've fell short of the target and they havent worked hard enough but they've still worked hard.

I dont begrudge them a mad monday but expect them to get flogged during summer. Schedule some phsychiatric seesions for half of them as well. They are a team full of internationals who have missed the 8\. That screams of poor preparation, poor planning, poor attitude… I really dont think they have put in this year, on the field or off it.

Stuff em

Sheensy should ride their butts into the ground until the first Monday in October as punishment for the dogpoo they have offerred at times this season

And if they don't like it ,show em the bloody door

look i dont disagree with the fact that the season has been a failure
mad monday is a tradition in which you forget all your failures in the season. pretty much like finishing schooling where you know you've pretty much done jack all year, yet you celebrate at the end of it.

Agreed. There is some big names in this side who havent had a go this year. I would be more prepared to watch the team go through a rebuilding phase than witness this rubbish again next year.

I don't really see the point of mad Monday anyway. There would be a fair few players filthy on their overall performance this year and I wouldn't be in the mood to celebrate an otherwise ordinary season.

Willow, that's how you,me and the majority of us feel. After yesterday's disgrace, it's obvious were a lot more passionate about this club than the players are. They'll lap up their Mad Monday.

Why do they dress in womans clothes for mad monday anyhow??

In the tigers case, they should all be made to wear pink ballerina costumes and parade down the main street of Campbelltown and leichhardt.

Farah, Fulton and woods the obvious exceptions

Correct me if I am wrong.. But I remember pre season this year a couple articles about the Tigers pre-season training with all the hard physical work they were doing with tyres, barrels etc.
I would expect if a pre-season training was to get players down and dirty, physical gruff and toughness and back to basics then this year would have done the trick.

Few people here seem to forget that Mad Monday is as much a commiseration as it is a celebration.

Given it is the release after a long season that started last year in the off season, I would be filthy if the club decided it thought it could deny its players from participating.

If the club wanted to make our players train through finals and wait for Mad Monday, thats something completely different.

I really want to know where the boys are going for their end of year trip. It must be amazing, they all seem so keen to get there!

Hows your year been??? Please let me know as I'll call Santa Claus and tell him whether to come or not… :unamused:

Mad Monday has its benefits and negatives... Regardless of the outcome of the season, the boys have trained for nearly 10 Months and some good time as a unit to reflect over a few beers may have a great outcome for the squad?!

Making discounts from their quarterly Salary would be a far better may to send a message that poor performance should not be tolerated!

I'm sure there all hurting on the inside that something never clicked this year for us let the boyz drink the bad away and toast to new beginning for next year

if wests-tigers played to their potental, they would not be having mad monday.

train them up to the grand final.
if they don't like that, send them away, deduct their pay.

also in off season, make them all work a full month as labourers on a work site, 6am to 6pm all over summer..
then they will realise how good they have it, and maybe we will see better attitude all round.

Mad Monday has no benefits for this group of players ..they actually dress up i think so maybe if they all wore pink skirts that would be an indication of how they performed this season .On a serious note if Sheens had any bottle left they would be still training until grand final day . So with that the boys will be wearing they pink dressed on Monday.

terrible idea.
the players will be as disappointed as anyone, and having an end of year mad Monday to blow off steam will be a way to put the season behind them and move on.

I reckon training all the way to Grand final day and having your 6 weeks off after that is the best practice and is becoming more common.
