Game week 5 is now past tense, scores are in, and things are beginning to take shape.
FPL continues to tease and amuse and everything befuddling!

Well done everyone; no matter what your score was, it’s only the 5th week down of a long season, so onward and upwards from here.

Just to recap:

First off, give yourself a big hand – you’re one of (already) 11,963,171 players world-wide who have joined the EPL Fantasy Comps comp – WOW!!

Forum Classic League 2025/2026 - Leader board after Match Week 5:

#1 Real SoSoBad (@vlad) remains outright leader with 296 points
#2 Bon Vivant (Mrs tiger_one) has skipped to a narrow 2nd place this week with 270 points
#3 Laroche (tiger_one) is now in 3rd position with 267 points.
#4 Eze does it (@mtd#2) has dipped a midge this week and is now on 256 points).
#5/#6 Relegation FC (@Harvey) is now tied with Slip Slot Slap (@WesternSuburbsBoy on 253 points
#7 Too De Ligt to Quit (@Leica_Tiger) has risen this week to Lucky 7 on the leader board with 240 points.
#8 Fleet Feet (@Criz) dips a tad to 235 points
shading
#9 Delta Blues on 220 points.

So BANG!!
Our leader board shows just how close the scores are, and highlights both the ease of scoring well (when the players do their part!) and the fickle nature of scoring points or not.
Again, some of the so-called big hitters in FPL were not big scorers; our points spread was a low 30 up to a high of 65 points - so extra congrats to all our above-average (ie 42 points across the entire FPL comp) scores this week in a particularly tight/tough week of scores.

Please check the Premier League Fantasy Website for full details.

Game week 6 kicks off Saturday night 27 September AEST, so remember to fix your teams before then.

And good luck everyone.

Finally, just as a tinsy incentive to maybe help, I will remind you that Saturday 27 September is Crush A Can Day (which translated to FPL lingo means "Pick your teams and SMASH IT!!") so let's get with the program and Crush It!

Forum H2H 25/26

Here, with this season’s H2H comp having 9 entrants, being a weekly format of mate against mate, we have 4 winners, with the other player against “ FPL average.”.

Congrats to Game week 5 winners, being Relegation FC, Real SoSoBad, with decisive wins, Slip Slot Slap who beat Bon Vivant by the skinniest margin of ONE point, while Delta Blues and Fleet Feet shared the spoils with a tie, 36 points each! WOW!
And Laroche went down to FPL average.

After Game week 5, the leader board now shows something extraordinary!
We have SIX equal co-leaders, each on 9 points sitting atop our leaderboard. WOW!!
These teams are: Real SoSoBad, Bon Vivant, Laroche, Eze does it, Slip Slot Slap and Relegation FC.

I know it's early days but this is amazing and shows just how tight our comp is.

Please check

Game-week 6 starts Saturday night 27 September AEST, so a friendly reminder to fix your teams before then.

So, after the team selections, the tinkering, and then the actual games – our comps are well and truly up and running.
And we've already hit the weeks from now where some EPL teams have to play extra games (Champions League, Carabao Cup etc) so players will be rested, injured, carded - all the things which mystify FPL players'
The FUN of a long season to come is happening.

Choose wisely.

This is one of the weirdest Gameweeks ever

B.Fernandes penalty miss (-1)
Esteve brace of own-goal
Haaland brace in stoppage time (16)
3rd on bench Alderete with 17 pts haul
SUN are the only team who kept a CS
No CS for MCI, TOT & BOU
First loss of the season for LIV

An optimal FPL routine (or not 😉)

  1. Saturday and Sunday - overreact to the weekends matches.
  2. Monday - chill out and decide on sensible transfer.
  3. Tues - Fri - spend hours thinking about all the other transfers I’m not going to do.
  4. Friday night or Saturday morning - make the transfer I knew I was doing on Monday.

WOW!!
The Current FPL World No.1 still hasn't made a single transfer so far and has even burned a transfer this week..
👀

GW1- 85 Points
GW2- 100 Points (Joao Pedro TC)
GW3- 67 Points
GW4- 104 Points
GW5- 61 Points
GW6- 68 Points
We are all playing the game wrong
😂
