Beau Ryan on benchy

This is the problem Stryker,

There is some confusion out there that we are losing games because we have an extensive amount of injuries.

We were losing with our full strenth side prior to this and I think ALL of the replacement players have played better than our full time first graders.

Injuries is not an excuse because, Ayshford, Lawrence, Moltzen, Marshall, Miller, Bell, Anasta, Tuqiri,,, all have made no impact AT ALL… I have no idea why this excuse is being used.

On top of marshalls poor attacking form, He is a massive liability in defence. He misses tackles EVERY week and a lot lead to tries. Also his style of game is a very low percentage one. Which is why he is touted a miracle magician when one comes off because the chances are highly unlikely that the play will come off. And then everyone thinks he is a genius.

I am over the flick passing , No look passing and just the randomness of his game. We need to focus on the young guys coming through because they will be the future for us and a very bright one.

I am not one to totally lay the blame on injuries mate…I was one of the people who were very vocal before the season started saying not only would we not make the 8, but that we would miss it badly. This was when we had our full complement of players. There were terrible signs last year and they have not been altered in any way, shape or form.

The fact is though, a lot of the blokes who were in average form are not playing at the moment so everyone is focusing on Benji and rightly so - he is wildly out of form. However someone needs to guide the backline that contains a rookie fullback, 2 rookie wingers, a rookie center and a rookie halfback. Reddy is doing a reasonable job but needs help. Fulton isnt a back....and thats it. There is no garauntee whatsoever that Brooks and co. will be able to handle first grade.

Our attack will be a mess tonight. You will notice a difference when Benji comes on. It might not be electric, but it will be noticeable.

Stryker, I didn't notice a difference when Benji played in either of the last two games other than when he let players run around him for tries. So if we do notice him when he comes on tonight - then hasn't Potters gamble paid off?

I was looking forward this year to our new players to be honest.

Ive known what benji has been like for years. We will never be a solid team with him in the side. We had a good run in 2010 and 2011 with him but apart from that the only good year was 2005\. Why is he rated so highly ????

We are an unpredictable side with him in it. It can be rocks or diamonds. No structure, No one knows whats going on when he is playing and its a guessing game.

Why are the Tigers the only team not able to blood new players??? Whats the difference between Brooks / moses to Reynolds or cherry evans when they started. ?

I agree tonights game would be tough for Brooks but how much confidence would he take out of it if he pulled through well ? He has played NSW cup now and whilst skill level is not the same there are certainly some big players there….. At some point they will have to come into the first grade side. The sooner the better.

Reading what good old Beau had to say last night makes me nothing that happy that he and Heighno are gone.

This pathetic back slapping boys club the Sheenius and his pin headed, maw mouthed troll assistant built needs to be torn down to the ground.

Benji does not belong in our first 13 on form this year, even with the injury concerns we have. With him guiding the ship and being asked to be a playmaker we have had zero structure or oranisation. Something had to be done and it has been

I'll go with that…Teflon gone(sort of)..next get rid of his mate with the soccer ball head and then our Recruitment person who never recruited after Prince and Hodgo left...we have only had makeshift replacements.

I dont think so…it is a hollow threat.
Benji has been aweful the past 2 weeks but he was playing injured and was a part of a side bar Woods and Farah that contains duds. Sad but true. Blame him all you want but he is a part of the worst side in the comp personel wise.

Yeah but how much of our Salary Cap is Benji eating up Stryker ,thats the issue

I understand where everyone is coming from, I still believe he can add something to this side though.
Anyways I'm off to the rubbadub…got a hot date with a number of pint glasses. We shall reconvene later. Hopefully in better moods?

Whilst I agree Benji is not playing good footy this year I still feel he is being scapegoated. The team is in absolute dissaray at the moment due to our crippling injury toll. Benji is not the only reason we are coming last.

We have a rookie prop starting most games this year.
Our backrow combined makes as much meters in attack as Woods…every damned week.
We have only had a halfback for 4 of our 9 rounds so far.
Both of our centers were not playing well and are now both out injured.
Our fullback is in his first year and is learning his trade.
We have a winger who cant catch a cold.
The backline is changed in its makeup almost every round.
Our defence is still aweful.

Our coming last has been coming for 2 years now and is a collaborative team effort. Benji is not playing well but is playing hurt. He came back from injury early and there

are only two possible reasons why he has done this:
a) The club forced him to do so.
b) He wanted to help out his team mates any way he was capable of doing so.

We can not form any combinations due to the constant team reshuffles and therefore our attack looks pathetic. That said, our attack looked very average at the start of the year as well when we had a near full strength side, so the question needs to be asked...what happened during the off season at training? Our attack has looked like crap right from round 1.

Happy, I have nothing against seeing players get a kick up the arse...I applaud it when it happens. However the timing of him doing this is off. I would have preferred he put the same side out as last week for the next fortnight and see whether combinations formed. We have 2 more games and then the bye. If nothing looked different by then, then I would have applauded a decision to spend that 16 days off to revamp the lineup. People wanted Brooks thrown in this weekend against Souths. That is lunacy in the extreme. He would have been pummelled into smitherenes. He would have been a sitting duck and it could well have set his development back considerably.

This is a reasonable and fair-minded summary of things IMO. Thanks Stryker. The only thing I have to add is that Benji can't ball-play without runners, and he has none in the current team. If he isn't fit, and one description on here of his foot needing to be heavily bandaged suggests that he can barely run, then he should be rested until he is fit, not benched.

Benji is being treated as a scapegoat and put into a position where he can't win - if we lose it will be his fault because he didn't score three tries and set up three others, if we manage a win, then the benching will be hailed a success. What do you want him to do. The best thing for the team is Benji fit and firing, so we should all get behind him, not try to tear down everything he's done.
