With his side ravaged by injuries, Wests Tigers coach Tim Sheens may turn to a 19-year-old who is yet to make his NRL debut in his squad's finals push.
>
Sheens has drafted Toyota Cup forward Ben Murdoch-Masila, another prospect from the club's Gold Coast nursery Keebra Park High School, into an extended train-on squad for the finals.
>
For the moment his promotion is one aimed at the future, rather than this year's finals campaign. Sheens said yesterday he primarily wanted Murdoch-Masila, whose Toyota Cup side has been eliminated from this year's competition, to experience some time with the top squad, although he is on standby should the club's injury woes continue.

good idea bring them in.
as it says highly unlikely sheens would play him in a final at the moment. im sure if a prop went down sheens would replace it with fitzy

Surely this is just for experience, you wouldnt take a 19 year old front/back rower and stick him in the centers for his NRL debut in the clubs first semi final in 5 years hahaha

I smell Sheens mind games lol

I'm not too sure if this really is a bluff ..
Latu was given a chance against the Bunnies and he went better than Meaney (IMO)..
If push comes to shove Sheens might need to resort to drastic measures , that said he might go for experience in Fitzy than a bloke who has never played 1st Grade pressure/finals footie..

Was told he mite play centre … but is he good enough yet for a semi ?

Backrower in the centres on debut in a finals series….I think whoever told you that might of been joking..

Murdoch will be getting valuable experience just holding the tackle bag...If Sheens picks him it wont be as a centre and I would think at this stage there would be a few ahead of him for a bench spot even..

Stranger things have happened....It's Wests Tigers afterall...

Good News here - However are we breeding more QLDrs with our association with Keebra Park High.

Murdoch is devastating when running wide of the ruck, Benji would compliment his game so well throwing those short balls. I'd love to see him get a run this Saturday night. He and Fifita are the future of our club.

Given the track record of the NSW selectors it's the only way they'll have of playing SOO…

In any event Ben might be a Kiwi...

The future looks bright… Imagine a bench next year of Fafita, Dwyer, Murdoch and Gibbs.... Scary...

I don't think Sheens will use Murdoch in the finals unless he was absolutely desperate - would his fitness be up to scratch??

However I do believe that there is a chance that Fulton could be moved into the Centres if we get deperate in the outside backs.

Fifita and Murdoch on the bench does sound very exciting!
