Benching Benji?

Before I get shot down just a thought I had.

Is it worth putting Benji on the bench for the next 2 matches? Put him in cotton wool for the finals and if we are in trouble against the Titans or Sharks put him on? I know F/A is important so maybe the scenario wouldn't work.

I suppose if it ain't broke don't fix it but interested to hear peoples thoughts or am I on another planet

You are on another planet…haha

I see where you are coming from but we aren't in a position to lose any matches.
In other words benching benji would be very dumb.
Last time we played without him against the dogs we looked terrible.

I suppose it could be viewed as being disrespectful to the Titans and Sharks and we don't need to give them any extra incentive to fire up. Just a crazy thought haha. Was just thinking Benji wouldn't be happen either as he would have to be a very good chance of taking out the Dally M

keep him in the team for most of the match.. If we are winning comfortably… take him off with 20 to go..

he has to play.. Simple

No. He's not the brittle kid he was 4 or 5 years ago. He needs game time to continue growing in confidence so come September he's at the peak of his powers.

Totally agreed. Why risk injury if he is out there unnecessarily. Let him play, create havoc, then bench him with 20 to go.

Im not in favor of this one,

We need BQM on the field to ensure we (hopefully) keep wining this will entrench confidence in the rest of the team leading into the Semis.

I like the Idea of giving him a spell if we are up by 20 points near the end.

Might be a idea(leaving Benji out of 17) due to Benji being in court this week from Tuesday to Thursday, wasn't at recovery today. Lucky it's a Monday game will give Benji time to prepare after court finishes on Thursday(with good news I hope)

Leave him in the team, if we bring him back for the finals after 2 weeks out his timing may be a little off at the start of the game. Against a top side, that may cost us.

This makes the most sense. If the Tigers are up by 30 with 20 or 15 to go, give him an early mark. If it's tight, well he stays out there.

Silly idea. We need him to having as much good form under his belt before the finals as possible. He can very much be a confidence player. Also, our for and against may be the telling factor in us making the top 4 - therefore we need him out there setting up and scoring as many tries as possible for us. Also he's our only decent goal kicker.

i agree with the notion of "possibly" bringing him off with the game in hand near the end, but with how the table is at the moment every point they win by could be crucial.

Momentum and combinations are what is needed if we are going to make any push deep into the semis.
To change a winning formula at this stage, and with a possible top 4 spot still up for grabs wouldn't be wise IMHO.

Im all for giving him a break at the end of the game, I think Farah could even use a spell with 20 to go if we are well infront.
