Benji Marshall

Never thought I would bag him and say this but he isnt a first grade player based on his form. His dreadful! Everytime he has got the ball today he has done something stupid or ruin the play. He cost us last week and this week he has been worse player on the field.

Reality is that he plays with ZERO structure and that is killing his team mates when it doesn't click.

Massive regression this year. He's gone from a bloke who seemed about to really go to a Thurston like level…...to a bloke who is now at a Sandow like level. Horrible season for him.

It's hard to disagree, an being such a high profile player and club legend… Still, maybe it's other factors, but either way a part from a handful of games, it's been a real dissapointing season... Benji is a legend though and class is permanent

He NEEDS a new coach.

New ideas. New structures. New attitude.

If Sheens coaches him until he's 30 we have dead set wasted his career.

Grand final on natural talent alone in 2005…...............and then not a single GF again.

Complete waste for a bloke with his talent. If Sheens really does care for him, he'd know that it's time to walk and let him hear a new coach.

Pretty hard to do anything when the forwards are belted and don't tackle. Seems to be there's no game plan in attack at all, no one knows what they are doing or should be doing.

This guy should no even get a look in to the tigers 1st grade team let alone the new zealand!!!!

He is awful. Forwards blah blah Sheens blah blah playing him at 7 blah blah make all the excuses you want but truth is HE won't take the line on HE has a rubbish kicking game HE us a liability in defence HIS passing game is woeful and atm he is barely a first grade footballer.

HIT THE NAIL RIGHT ON THE HEAD .
When will the people who run our club wake up and do something about it .STALE STALE STALE AND WHO DOES THE AUSTRALIAN COACH SNAG TO OUR CLUB ?only a few ex Panthers reserve graders

I Sound like a broken record but he has played like this 85% of the time for ever, it just gets masked over by the occasional highlight. The reason everyone lately is talking about how crap he is is because it's been a while since he's provided a highlight flick/no look pass. If he pulls one out next week he'll be the poster boy again and all the rubbish will be forgotten. He's a head case

He was better than Robbie was.

now that wouldnt be hard seeing our coach has moved the origin hooker to a position he has never played well in .
Still scratching my head on that masterstroke by Sheens , and see what 6 weeks with another coach has done to Robbie . its not rocket science rugby league, play your players in their best positions .

This bs about blaming Sheens for Benjis below average performances is so lame.
Benji is the only person that is accountable for his performance, i'm sick of hearing this crap when he plays poorly, everyone wants to blame someone or something else for it, it's absolutely pathetic. Just admit Benji is not all that and really never was but he's done an incredible job of fooling everyone he is.

So where do we go from here. I think wooden spooners next year. Ellis is going home to pommie land and he is our backbone in defence. We couldn't attract Luke Lewis to the camp, the big guns are staying away from a team that doesn't offer any structure.

People blaming Marshall for this are clueless.

He is a five eigth. He is not an organiser - he is individually brilliant, can create something out of nothing and is a match winner on his day.

The problem is that idiot Sheens has tried to make him into an organising halfback. Which he is not. He has tried it before and failed. He is trying it again, and will fail.

Sheens is a deadset clown He has no idea of what playing players IN POSITION means. Marshall was going great last year because he had an organising half (Lui) outside him. Ditto when he had Prince.

The problem is Sheens. He has been there too long. He is out of ideas. He has brought a whole lot to this club, including a level of professionalism and a GF - neither of which we had before.

But by hanging on now, he is doing himself and this club a great disservice. Time to say goodbye.
