If/when our club ever gets a Centre Of Excellence, it would be a fitting gesture if it was named after Chris Lawrence.
He is absolutely everything you could ever want a player in your colours to be, on and off the field.
Hope the boys pay rightful tribute to the man tonight by absolutely giving their all.

That’s not a bad idea, maybe you could email Pascoe with the suggestion.

You'd hope the thought would already be there though Mike?.

Well yeah, but a push from fans wouldn’t hurt?

Not only a Tiger legend but a legend of a man. He is a real gentleman to deal with and talk to and bleeds Black, Gold and White.

Injuries were not kind to him and I honestly believe he was robbed of a long representative career after his dislocation, he lost a bit of his magic that day. Will always be one of my favourite Tigers ever and I truly hope we can celebrate this milestone with a win for him.

I dont know how many times I need to do this, but Rowdy played his best representative football ever, representing Australia, at centre AFTER the hip dislocation.

Onya Rowdy, thanks for all the big efforts and great memories.
May the boys repay you with a win today!!

Did he have a long representative career did he??

Not particularly....in your words, what "robbed him of a long representative career"?

Because “in my opinion” the player he was before the dislocation was destined for a long career playing State Of Origin and for Australia however after the injury he never got back to being that player again. Still a quality player just lost that bit of magic.

I do know what you are saying here, when he got back at the end of 2011 he played for Australia and seemed to have kept his pace. Over the next 18 months he had a number of issues with his hamstrings which seemed to coincide with the loss of pace. I would think there probably was a change in strength or or running style that led to the hamstring injuries and loss of pace. To imply that his loss of pace wasn't related to his hip dislocation would be naive and unfair.

The facts dont support your opinion. Rowdy was in career best form and played his best Representative Football, for Australia, after his hip dislocation. If he is representing at the highest level, how does an injury 12 months prior to representing at this level prevent him from future representation.

Hamstrings curbed his career, not the hip dislocation.

I would highly suspect that the hamstring injuries and hip dislocation were related.

Its possible, its also possible that its not. He was flying 12 months after the hip injury. Many players have hamstring issues late in their careers.

Late in his career? he was 22 when he dislocated his hip and 23 when the loss of pace was starting to become apparent. His sister stated on triple m just this afternoon that the loss of pace was related to to the hip injury.

2006-2010 scored 50 try’s from 90 games
2011 until now scored 34 try’s from 159 games

Hardly career best form after the dislocation, either way he is a club legend.

I'm very defensive of Chris Lawrence, a lot of the stuff he copped online before he made the transition into the forwards was totally unfair. We have never had a guy play for us who showed so much dedication and heart towards our club. A true club legend that we can be very proud to have had play for our club.

Couldn’t agree more mate and certainly would never speak poorly of him.

I wasn't saying you were, more agreeing with you, have just seen so much negative stuff written about him over the years.

You were talking about Representative football. Rowdy played his best Rep football after his hip injury, without question. Its also without question that over the next few years he lost his pace.

His position as club legend is also without question.

Mate, Im not knocking him. Probably my favourite ever Wests Tigers player and no question of his courage, loyalty and heart. Great player, great bloke.

I have heard from Rowdys own mouth in interviews that the hamstring injuries had nothing to do with the hip injury. That coupled with his pace in that series playing for Australia shows to me that it was something else.

My comment was that he wasn’t able to have a LONG representative career due to the injury, nothing to do with form, again I ask you did he have a LONG representative career?
