Benji Marshall’s peak as a player was 2004–2011. Everything after that was a steady decline bordering on pure shit.

We keep hearing about what a brilliant player Benji was, but that version of Benji disappeared a long time ago. Past playing brilliance doesn’t automatically translate into current playing and certainly not coaching ability.

The bloke who lit up the field 15–20 years ago isn’t walking through that door to save the Tigers. Judge Benji Marshall the coach on what he’s delivering now, not a 1 min career highlight reel from 2005-2011.
