Obviously he struggled during his last couple of years as a tiger but love this guy, have massive respect for him, would hate to see him play in any other NRL team, but this rumour is BS, it was shot down by Gus. Anyway wish Benji all the best in Union hope he kills it.

Yeah I think he would wait until seasons end before deciding to give up

Wouldn't surprise me if he plays NRL in 2015, not necessarily for us

I think he's mostly sponsorship value at Auckland, but even more so at an NRL club

Yes I can see him back in the NRL next year. League is his game. One way or another it was always interesting watching Benji play.

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't there a non-compete clause saying he can't play for another NRL club until his original Tigers contract period is up which is end of 2015?

I think Benji would be a better option at no6 than we presently have but we have moved on in a different direction and its not time to look back. I really think if Benji returned to the NRL he would have to go to a top notch team who could cover for his mistakes and benefit from his flashes of magic.

In my old job, I dealt with Asics reps occasionally.
Asics joined the Panthers or signed them in a sense to a deal.
From junior level all the way up to first grade, pretty much Panthers as a brand.

Benji is sponsored by Asics, isn't he?

Could be more than meets the eye here, I'm sure if he wanted too, it could be arranged.
Interested to see how this plays out.

Gus shot down a few rumours that turned out to be true in the past didn't he?
Watch this space.

How can you cover for: throwing passes into the grandstand; kicking out on the full or throwing passes into your players head?

But if he went to another NRL club that would make him look silly? he came out and said " I would never play for another NRL club unless it's the Tigers"

I miss Benji…..I'd have him in a heartbeat.......also means Anasta would not be wearing 6.

I am in two minds about it. Benji getting paid what Braith does and I would have him, Benji being paid what he used to get paid then he is the same as he has been for many years over paid.

Neither is a great #6 in modern day NRL. Neither take the line on, run straight and both appear to have crap long kicking games.

I don't think he'll be back. I think the blues are just taking their time with him.

If he were to come back to the tigers I wouldn't have him in a playmaker role.

Agree. At least with Benji in the side you had a genuine match-winner. Sure, he does some stupid things on the field but I would rather see someone not die wondering and chance his hand than a pedestrian passenger who offers nothing whatsoever.
It isn't Braith's fault that he continues to get selected in our side, but geez, how long do you think a successful club with a winning mindset would put up with his inneffectiveness.
