Benji Worries Me

I'm slightly concerned that Benji is spending too much time talking to the media. I wouldnt mind if he had his head in the bunker and Robbie Farah meeting our media commitments. It'd be better If Tim could impose a media ban on the players but I guess that would bring heat on us from the media and the NRL.

I'm sure that the NRL demands that the media have access to the captains and certain others. Benji was voted most dangerous opponent by the captains, therefore this creates a media 'need' to get a response from him. The simple fact is that he is the most recognised player in the game and the media are always going to want to talk to him. I think he does well in interviews and gives a good account of himself, the Tigers and the game in general. He is now a senior member of the team and the New Zealand captain as well, so he has to deal with that side of it without it being a distraction.

Let him talk .. Its good for the game and all .. Media get their gossip and twist it , the fans get to see and hear Benji on TV and all the kids get to catch a glimpse of him in the 1 spot.. Benji can make a world of difference on the field and i wouldnt stop him from entertaining the media. He leaves his best for when he puts on the WT jersey and has the ball in hand..If a player half of Benji's class faces the media i will be worried but Benji , he is a superstar.

Benji is a confidence player and he relish all the attention and the big stage of finals football. I hope Iam not wrong but i expect benji to stamp his class all over September and with a little luck the first week in October
