Benji

Never seen him play that bad, HORRENDOUS game from him. He was our worst player tonight

I captained him in DT expecting him to lift with Farah out and our season on the line and all. LOL I'm a genius.

I dont know what is going on but it is a complete joke.

The way that they keep talking up Benji not overplaying his hand, and Benji just not trying to score off every play etc etc you could almost imagine that this is Sheens, and not Benji's doing. But he is doing NOTHING - except putting up (fairly ordinary) bombs. Far out; I could put up bombs - he is not being paid to do that.

At least earlier in the year he was putting it on the line in defence , now he back to the bad old days

In attack did nothing , no pressure on the line with his running game

Can someone explain to Benji that as Captain he needs to lead by example , not hide behind it

At best 3.5 out of 10

Can't remember his last decent game against full strength top 4 opposition

He has played worse than that. 2 try assists tonight, without him the Tigers lose by 22, not 12.

I don't blame him tbh.
Everyone gives him the ball in no win situations expecting him to do something. Someone will be about to get tackled then see Benji so just give him the ball without even thinking about what could possibly eventuate.
It isn't Benji's fault if the players around him are stupid.

He's still an ad lib footy player. He NEEDS a new voice teaching him. If Sheens ANY self respect, he'd walk and let the kid have a new coach for his last few years. 27 years and he still makes rookie errors. Not even close to Thurston anymore, he just hasn't even matured consistently.

I was far more disappointed with his defense than attack. I'd like to see how many tackles he missed. Most were one on one with the dogs player flat footed.

His attack his woeful since moving to 7\. He just cannot play the type of game sheens is trying to make him. Move him back to 6 and put either humble/moltzen/miller at half.
His defense is so bad at the moment that he makes Robert lui's defense look like David Gillespie. Needs to defend in between Lawrence and Ellis (once Ellis is back).

His defence really is poor. He must be missing as many tackles as he is making. Our defensive line would have been better tonight with Lui in it.

As for his attack, his best attribute was always his elusive running. Now it is rare for him to run straight at the line.

I cannot even start on his kicking game.

That is rubbish.

We had a huge amount of posession in the Dogs' 20 early in the game and his running game was no where to be seen; and its not as if he was throwing great passes or placing attacking kicks either. There was plenty of go-forward from the Tigers but nothing was happening from the playmakers.

He is not a halfback. Will never be a halfback. As a senior player he really needs to get his act together out of position or not.

NRL stats has 6 MT for Benji with 8 made. Most MT by anyone in the game.

If we had Wallace,A.Reynolds, even Hornby we would have won tonight, the Dogs were there to be beaten. Benj was horrible against Newcastle and worse tonight. We needed a leader and he just doesn't deliver. Will he ever make a legs tackle coz grabbing high ain't working for him. Overall poor effort which the other elite players don't produce.

Both were off fluke kicks.

He had a shocker mate.

Flukes? Watch the replay, both kicks were deliberate. Without we wouldn't have scored a point by halftime.

I've said this before, Benji is a freakish talent with the ball in his hands, with room to move, side stepping, no look passes etc Unfortunately he is not playing his natural style of play because he has been given the kicking duties. Every week we see a couple of kicks that leads to tries and then another 10 or so that are very bad. It is below average when you compare to all the other playmaker/kickers in the game. They don't do as many bad kicks per game.

Have a look at the last few weeks stats and see how many metres Benji has actually run? It's amongst the least of any player in our side which is alarming because he is best when he is running with the ball. Instead, we have Benji simply catching and immediately either passing or kicking. The team is not leveraging his strengths. Kicking is not his strength!!!
