We were talking about this at work today I was pretty lucky in the 80's Best mate from schools Mum worked at Ticketek . So my 3 all time best in no order are at this stage . U2 , Bruce Springsteen and Dire Straits Best Aussie live acts Midnight Oil and Hunters and Collectors Anyone care to add ???

International Bands - John Mellencamp, Eurythmics, U2, Bryan Adams, Simple Minds, Billy Joel

Oz Bands - Hunters and Collectors (Selina's), Midnight Oil, Hoodoo Gurus, Icehouse (better live than on record), INXS (original line up on the KICK tour), Crowded House (concert at Opera House), Splitz Enz and Ian Moss.

Being a little older than you ( I think) I have seen everyone from Led Zeppelin down.
Funnily enough the best live band I ever saw were basically a support band for Three Dog Night .
At that time (early 70's)Three Dog Night were arguably the most popular (pop) group in the world
with over 20 consecutive top 40 hits.
The support was a group called The Guess Who - with one hit 'American Woman' ( later redone by Lenny Kravitz).
They were so good the whole place booed for 10 minutes when Three Dog Night took the stage - no-one wanted them to finish.

metallica and iron maiden. ive seen them both twice. acer arena and sydney entertainment centre

International
RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE
At The Drive In
Faith no more
Soulfly
Marilyn Manson

International: Metallica, Static-X, Killswitch Engage, Spandau Ballet, Tears for Fears.

Local: Amity Affliction

Im probably a bit older than most of you posters and ive seen a fair few bands in my day, Including international acts as well as local, I would like to go on record as saying some of our local bands well & truly match it with a lot of international acts, Though the one that surpasses them all is our very own BILLY THORPE ! This man" live" was like nobody else, He blew Deep Purple and Alice Cooper off stage, Living in both NSW & QLD, I took every chance I got to see the man, When they had that concert, Its a long to the top with all the older sixties & seventies aussie stars,Thorpie made them all look like amateurs, Truly the best ever, Im talkin Thorpie 70 onwards till his untimely departure in 2007, RIP BILLY THORPE. Oh Yeah if you didn:t notice , BIG time fan.

International - Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath ( with Ozzy and Tony ) Jethro Tull Free Uriah Heep etc - virtually every big name act that came out during the 70's and 80's plus some lesser magic acts ie Kevin Coyne, Graham Parker, Jackson Browne Ralph McTell.
Local - Died Pretty, Radio Birdman, Exploding White Mice, Hard Ons - the list is endless.

My worst show - Neil Young at the entertainment centre sydney - came down from country fro the show - met friends for lunch that i hadn't seen for 10 years - rocked up to the concert drunk and fell asleep - just hope i didn't snore.

International - Faith No More, Evanescence and Live

Local - Horsehead, Shihad, Karnivool

AC/DC - greatest live band on earth - seen them in Australia, England, Holland and Germany.
The Angels
Rose Tattoo
Rolling Stones (Saw them at the Enmore theatre and Angus & Malcolm came on stage)
The Hard Ons.

No one else matters !!

Have to agree with you AC/DC The one & only charismatic Bon Scott died too young , also THE EAGLES not the silvertail kind , Sydney concert hell freezes over some time in the mid nineties very impressed with the polished live performance some bands just can not cut it live but every band member in the eagles can sing as well as play .I also remember the flowers playing at the Wiley park hotel in the 70s before they were icehouse but ordinary .

Int. - Bon Iver, The Roots, Swell Season/The Frames, Black Keys & Pavement.

Local - You Am I, The Herd, John Butler Trio.

You're an emo.
I must say, Dallas Green has an amazing voice though.

Been sneaking into The Cambridge Hotel @ Newcastle to see bands since I was 14…
Saw a bunch of weird stuff that I wasn't rly a fan of, like the bands Alex mentioned and a few other terrible rah rah bands like Bleeding Through, Every Time I Die, Evergreen Terrace, Comeback Kid, etc etc.
Not really a fan of any of it but was fun to do back in the day. Also saw THE MISFITS during this period sometime and stole a bunch of merch, lol...

I saw G-UNIT @ Sydney, thats 50 Cent's crew for all you guys who seem to only like music with guitars and long haired guys.
Was awesome, Lloyd Banks is the man.

Also saw M.O.P, Mash Out Posse... Oldschool NY hip hop, was once signed to G Unit Records @ Newcastle.

Seen pretty much all of the huge stadium bands and none of them disappointed - Deep purple, AC/DC, Mettalica, G'N'R's, The Who, U2…....

Been to some of the biggest music festivals in the world....Roskilde, Coachella, Glastonbury all of them great.

Must fun concert ever been to was Motley Crue's - Carnival of Sins that was awesome.

Best small intimate concert was The Tea Party...raw emotion and majical skill.
