Best Wests Tigers team 2000-2011

I can't believe that Manu is still playing ESL and 2 late games I saw he played earlier this season far better than he ever did when he was with the Tigers His discipline was good ( issue I always had with him ) and he was really working the ball out of his own half well .

Willie Manu could have been anything.

See what your doing, but there are a lot more shockers to choose from then some of the guyz you went with. Some of these guyz were accomplished footballers. Willie Manu was lethal when he was with us. Robbie Mears was an extremly good footballer at the Warriors and did some good things for us. It was unfortunate for him that Farah came along. A better choice at hooker would have been Warren Carney. And Troy Wozniak was a pretty handy player who did some good things. Also a better option on the wing would have been Jackson Kaufusi aka Lipina Kaufusi aka Makasini Richter ahead of Jason Moodie who was also an accomplished player

From memory Moodie was very good in his first stint but when he came out of retirement he was poor. I think Steve Crouch had some good games for us as well.

Yeah I always thought the same about both he and Luke O'Donnell but they were always far too ill disciplined

Makes you wonder what a few seasons under Sheens would have done ??

Good to see John Wilson get a mention. One of the most under-rated players to ever put on a Tigers jumper IMO

Chill out guys, it was for a bit of a laugh. They were just the names that came to mind at the time.

My fair dinkum best 17 would be:

1\. Brett Hodgson
2\. Taniela Tuiaki
3\. Shane Elford
4\. Chris Lawrence
5\. Pat Richards
6\. Benji Marshall
7\. Scott Prince (as much as I hate to admit it)

13\. Chris Heighington
12\. Gareth Ellis
11\. Anthony Laffranchi
10\. John Skandalis
9\. Robbie Farah
8\. Keith Galloway

14\. Todd Payten
15\. Bryce Gibbs
16\. Mark O'Neill
17\. Liam Fulton

Fitzy very unlucky to miss out. He was one of our best during the finals in 2005.

In regards to Moltzen I couldn't think of a better backline utility player, and I prefer Woods go forward compared to Payten's. Defensively Payten is probably a little more effective, but not by much, and Woods does have a good engine. With Gibbs on the bench and such a good defender, I think it's a good pairing.

GNR4LIFE is right though. Action Jackson Kaufusi made Jason Moodie (even in his second time around) look like Ken Irvine…

A lot of people laugh about Terry Hill, but the fact is when he was on the field (which i know wasn't often) he busted his ass and gave 200% every time

Yeah I agree. It would have been very easy for him to just turn up and take a pay cheque but he did seem to give a damn even when he was playing for a struggling club in front of relatively few fans.

And he did play rep football when he was at the WT.

Terry Hill offered very little when he played in the centres for us…...but in his last year he played lock and was simply unstoppable.
