BIG SCREAMS FOR BENJI AND ADAM BLAIR AT SCHOOLS

Three big regions and more than 25,000 kids in three weeks is what Wests Tigers achieved with its very popular School Blitzes as part of the NRL Community Carnival.

In an enormous effort by the Wests Tigers NRL squad, the players travelled to schools in Southern Highlands and Balmain over the past fortnight before backing up today to visit 33 schools in the Campbelltown and Liverpool regions.

As per the Southern Highlands and Balmain School Blitzes, the players spoke about the ‘Rugby League Reads’ program, healthy lifestyles and promoting junior rugby league ahead of the Foundation Cup trial match against the Sydney Roosters at Campbelltown Stadium this Saturday night.

Wests Tigers five-eighth Benji Marshall and Adam Blair were greeted by loud screams from excited students at Campbelltown North, Campbelltown Public and Claymore Public Schools. Students also received Wests Tigers showbags.

Marshall enjoyed reading the story, ‘The Three Little Tigers’ based on the children’s novel The Three Little Pigs. This time, the characters named Benji, Robbie Farah and Lote Tuqiri had to fight off the big bad wolf in Manly winger David ‘Wolfman’ Williams to protect their new dressing rooms at Campbelltown Stadium.

Wests Tigers would like to thank the ARL Development Officers for their wonderful support and hard work in making all three school blitzes a tremendous success.

Massive and extremely impressive effort from all involved. I'd suggest we just hooked in many new fans. Maybe there is a superstar amongst that lot as well who will one day insist on wearing our colours….

Good work by the Wests Tigers club, get the kids interested now as the season is about to start, it is important to keep the interest going through the season and not be a one off.
