Just looking through a list of players off contract this year, there actually isn’t a lot there from what I saw. The only names I saw that I’d be interested in are RTS, Mansour and Morgan.

Why would any CEO/FOM give a player an early clearance a year down the track?

Early Clearances are always immediately, so its safe to say its not Cleary.

Rumours are that Roosters want Mansour, so think if he leaves Penrith he's Bondi-bound.
Would have to think after Munster playing up, Morgan will be likely QLD halfback for years to come, so really doubt NQ would let him go.

Surely Gus wouldn't let Nathan go early after clearing the decks to keep him.

The only players in the whole NRL I can see us as having a big chance to get (as in the player wanting hopefully to come to us) is RTS or Cleary.

Must be Cleary, but Gus would need another big signing lined up to save face, before he let him go. (Mind you, Maloney at the Panthers is already huge)

So it's for 2019 without approval and 2018 if cleared?

Personally don't like the idea of signing anyone a year early, especially the coache's son. Massive conflict of interest and I've been nothing but positive about the Clearys to date.
