How was Joey?
Never caught all the game but there's been some positive feedback on him and Kiah Cooper that I've read.

Joey played ok and seems positive played a team game ..rekon a call up next week .

Joey was still a little lazy, Cini was good & I was really impressed with Amone.

Cini I thought was small , but he just gets his legs moving in tackles post contact . I’d consider him for a wing , although at least 2 times I saw him give the feeblest of attempts at tackles . But hey it can’t be worse than what AJ is doing with the ball in hand . He’s really killing us with those errors .

I really don't think Madge is being honest with himself or fans after watching the presso

He says he can see things coming together ...how ...our attack is under 9's at times and isn't NRL level at all ....and if Parra hang on to the ball in the 1st 15 minutes of the 2nd half it's a 40-50 point blow out

This club just chooses to ignore reality ...and thinks that many fans don't have a clue

We were reliant on Taylorball with a magical kick on the end .....that's it ......with a 7 that organizes jack squat every set ....and that's acceptable

Can't really rely on presso's its just the same comments every week..

We need to do it every week, do it for longer periods, combinations are growing, proud of this team at training.

Its all correct but just political BS.

I honestly feel this club has broken Madge, he looks like he ages a year every week.
Last year he tries to hold everyone accountable and the team/media throw a wobbly he's chopping and changing too much. No stability. Think he is gunshy to ring many changes now.

The lack of effort especially in that first half against the eels is very concerning.
I think he's out of ideas and we are in big trouble.

This is the bottom line get the axe out and give opportunity to someone that will give you effort .. The pussy footing needs to end other coaches change there rosters when required your not performing hello Reggie's . This situation is like a boil you just can not miss it, I actual thought Madge was tough and uncompromising but of late I have my doubts .

What makes you think Madge is afraid to wield the axe? Last year he copped a lot of (unfair) criticism for 'chopping and changing' and having prima donnas 'walking on eggshells' under the threat of being dropped. After only 2 games he dropped one of our highest profile players to reggies. And I expect AJ will be dropped soon if he doesn't improve, possibly today. I don't know that there's much more we can expect in terms of willingness to drop players.

It all comes down to cattle and at present we probably have 60% of the team that will takes us to the next step, but till the 40% is moved on, than not a real lots going to change.

Agree @jirskyr and @momo_amp_medo.
As much as we need our attack to click, we need much more solid defence than that. It was honestly annoying to watch us stand back and wait for the opposition, in a fair chunk of the game.

Said it in another thread, there's too much trepidation from the team and it's why I'm not a fan of certain selections - including our starting forwards or our rotation - as we tend to have no line speed or urgency due to those couple of little problem areas and other teams are exposing this.
Though our attack looks better(or flows more easily) on that left hand side Talau and Kepaoa are unfortunately letting us down and they've not shown any redeeming qualities at this point. We're hoping for our spine to click but when our support players are this poor, what do we expect.

Our attack is disgraceful, Brooks is only part of the problem, but a constant, the reggies halves are crap, I know why they want Hastings, Madge has a lot to answer for

I definitely think we need an attacking coach and madge should be focusing solely on our defence. You look at the successful teams like the eels, raiders, storm , roosters, panthers and the major difference is the speed of their defensive line. Ours today seeing it at the ground is horrendous. We just wait for them.

We have an attacking coach, how many do you want?

Well, I suspect from your answer that you asked the wrong question.

Your question was "we need an attacking coach" - to which I replied we have one.

Maybe your question should have been "we need a different attacking coach"

Our attack is not as bad as our defence, so I don't think we need a different attack coach.

Better than Talau. Even on a bad day I’d take Joey over Talau.
At least he’s good for forum fodder. ?

when i was playing Amateur RU here in Wellington back in the 90's early 00's we had a couple of coaches for attack and d. i'm sure the top nrl teams do not leave attack to 1 man or d to 1 man.
