Black Cavier

She is great for Australian Sports and the people love her…

Sadly, 1000-1200 horse racing doesnt have as high a profile as 1600-2400 racing around the world.

Also, i feel they way she has been handled is a little greedy by her owners, but if you keep winning the Prizemoney she has Won, I suppose thats there choice.

When was the last time we say 'Match Racing' in Australia?

I wouldnt say she races against no names mate….this isnt the Phu Tho in Ho Chi Minh..

She is going for her 25th win in a row from 25 starts...best race mare ever.

Good Morning Vietnam!!!

Seriously Stryker why is there like 6 or 7 horses 8 at the most in his races?
Why is it never a full field like the Melbourne Cup?

Thourough Bred Racing in Australia is bigger than just weekend racing… Wins vs Prizemoney vs Breeding is all a big part and if you had an ok horse, you wouldnt risk it racing against this champion. It would have alot of seconds/thirds and would reduce any potential of breeding fee's etc.

Moody doesnt put Caviar in small fields, other owners dont nominate to race against it!

thats all we got to go on in the end i suppose.
Like you said TW its good for Australian sport.
I just feel cheated.
Its seems like Makybe Diva did more -
More of a legend that Black Cavier?

What was the go with them moving that horse away from her in the barrier that always caused problems? Would they do it for any other horse?

preferential treatment?

Yep , she's brilliant , not that avacado on toast would know , but as his name suggests , makes no sence at all

Damn women....talk talk talk thats all it ever is

Interesting decision. I thought another trip to the UK would have really sealed her place as one of the all time greats. I'm somewhere in the middle of the views presented in this thread. I think she is a fantastic sprinter and her record speaks for itself although I think after the first dozen races and others started avoiding her the wins became glorified barrier trials. Moody and the owners are partly responsible (weak races in Adelaide, only going to 1400m once + avoiding handicaps), the options available for other connections which make it easy to avoid her are partly responsible, owner/trainers not willing to have a crack are partly responsible.

Still despite being, "well placed", she won a Newmarket, 3 Lightnings and 2 2 TJ Smiths so that's a good resume for an Australian sprinter.

It'a shame Hay List got injured because he was possibly the only horse in Aust to really test her.

off to get some action off the track…

What do you reckon the fee will be?

Oddly enough, her owners have to pay for the stallion's service fee. That's how it works but I'm thinking that there would be a huge amount of interest and therefore publicity for the stallion there may be some deal but then again BC's connections stand to make the money from the result so perhaps not!
