Blair and Anasta

Now I think I got it right with Bair blah blah…and unlike everyone else I have concerns with Braith Anasta.

I watched him a bit towards the end of the year and I do not know what we are going to do with him. He is not the great ball player everyone says, he is ok only. I would not call him an inspirational leader..he has a big mouth and knows how to [This word has been automatically removed] to the refs.

I am concerned that he is changing clubs at a late age , to a dysfunctional club at the moment. We, the supporters have no idea what position he will play..and if he, Anasta, thinks he does,he's got another thing coming.
I am concerned he will fall into the mire and will match up to his reputation, of being the most overrated player in the comp.

Anasta could be just what the doctor ordered or the biggest flop since Ohara. On one hand I can see why Sheens wants him and that is to take control of the big plays so we play more the percentage game rather than the Benji wing and a prayer.

Yet I worry if we can afford the luxury of another traffic cop, by that I mean another thinker rather than a doer. We need to fix our defense and our go forward, Iam not sure if Braith will help either.

How ridiculous to judge braith on the last month or so o the season, he knew he was leaving and was frustrated with the roosters season.. Fair dinkum!!!
He is a great leader with a great kicking game, he will be great, he's aggressive too and dry competitive

I have watched Anasta for a number of years. My doubts are is age, speed and ability to keep up with the youth and the size of the youth , today.

I am concerned that if he ends up in the back row, we have him, an ageing slow back rower, and Blair..a player who does a minimum of work…...poor Fulton,, he will be do the tackling for the whole back row !

Braith doesn't shy away, he will be great, don't get too concerned, it's a long off season

I thought he was excellent in the 11 jumper late 2010\. One of the Roosters best.

True but next year is 2013 dont get me wrong i am hoping for the best but he is getting on in years

He has a great kicking game, which adds a third (maybe even a fourth, if Siro finds his way into the side) problem for the opposition, and will straighten up our poor last tackle options.

These are very fair comments. Looking to be positive I would see Anasta as the thinker (much as Prince was) and Benji as the doer (much as Benji was).

With Heino going, would the master coach play him at Lock?
Are there any gun 2nd rowers on the market?

I wish Anasta was younger too - but we have him at the peak in his wisdom years of NRL - same cant be said for benji or robbie. Anasta makes mistakes, but not in crucial periods of the game, in those periods he will sink you, quite the opposite in fact, same can't be said for benji or robbie - sadly after all these years - they still dont know how to close down the game. Yes I wish was Braith was younger - probably would of won a comp. Hope its not too late.

I agree. Seems many love the WT but don't understand football.

Yeah, his signing is a gamble,he's lost a lot of his speed since his Dog days but hopefully he will want to end his career on a high.

i agree 100% thank you !!

im not concerned at all.

braith has a footy brain, something marshall and farah lack. its not a criticism of marshall or farah, but braith has something they both don't.

as for how this effects blair, i think it will bring the best out of him. he will have someone solid directing him, just like he did at the storm.

im very happy with anasta, he will do us well.

Farah has a footy brain MTD, it gets overloaded when he's the only option for us to rely on, especially with an erratic Marshall. I do agree he could be a revelation at halfback. He can defend and has a good kicking game to cut it there. It would be the "late career" equivalent of Prince.

Good point CB- he won't be called upon for the Hail Mary plays, but moreso the 1% things. I also think he has the nouse and respect to overcall Benji and Robbie when required- that is important.
