Just watched the tackle, wow that is soft. How he got cited and Ennis didn't I don't know..

I'm still trying to see where the "unnecessary pressure" supposedly is. Maybe I'm one-eyed or maybe some blokes are just judiciary targets. Granted, Blair is no clean skin and has earned the bad rap, but if Josh Morris performed the same tackle on Blair I doubt he even gets cited. Anyway, no use crying over spilt milk!

if Adam takes the early plea.
why would he miss the game against cowboys.

should'nt he miss game against panthers on sat night?

Melbourne play the Cowboys. Guess they didn't get the memo that he's with us now

 Sometimes I think he still is playing for Melbourne!

The guys on Fox tonight are going off saying he should have copped more! I guess I need to see it in super slow motion but it didnt look like much to me.

It is very typical of the NRL on Fox panel.

I agree it should be pulled up more.

However with the exception of MG they only tend to call out ex Storm players whilst all the time ignoring the club that causes it and always deflecting attention away from Bellamy & the Storm

Mate sometimes I think a few of us wished he still did :stuck_out_tongue:

The judiciary's reason for suspending him was ridiculous. That "he applied avoidable pressure with his shoulder". If this is their justification for finding him guilty then this is a joke! As Humphries as said, this sets a real low bar with future cases. If you ask me, his Melbourne back ground counted against him.

He shouldnt have twisted Morris' ankle…..dumb play

Agreed, but surely a penalty was enough.

Its a deliberate, malicious move with the potential to cause serious injury.
Totally unnecesary

You blokes need to drop the goggles….this crap isnt rugby league, its wrestling, what everyone here has been pissmoaning about for years!!

That's fair Ink, but the inconsistency from the judiciary is ridiculous. Ennis' effort was far worse and he gets off scot free. It's not just this game, or even our club. Teams regularly have players cited whilst there are other incidents that are let off, be it the opposition or even their own team.

In a sense I agree with you, its just tough to take when there are other clubs where this sort of act is part of their game and its not pulled up

I think he deserves 3-4 weeks

Grabbing a guys ankle and twisting it is a dog act. Nothing accidental about. Nothing tough about.

Face it Blair is a grub and is playing average footy. I couldn't care less that he is missing a week.

This sort of rubbish has always been in his game and if they gave him 3-4 weeks maybe he would wake up and get rid of it.

This is a reasonable ban, if anything he is lucky to get only one week. I remember a while ago during a game some guy yanked my leg in a tackle and I felt like something was going to hurt, although it didn't. Fired me up! Stuff like this starts fights and it needs to be eliminated from the game.

Too bad though, we are going to miss his 32 metres, 0 offloads, 8 missed tackles, 3 penalties and 4 errors.

Blair banned for innocuous knock

WESTS TIGERS back-rower Adam Blair will miss Saturday night's clash against Penrith after being found guilty of a dangerous contact charge at the NRL judiciary last night.

In a verdict which could set a dangerous precedent, given the innocuous nature of the incident, the Kiwi international was banned for one match for causing unnecessary pressure to Josh Morris's leg in Friday's loss to Canterbury.

As Morris attempted to get to his feet to play the ball, Blair grabbed his leg and twisted it sideways, but there seemed little force to the tackle as the Bulldogs centre played on immediately.

ARL Commission prosecutor Peter Kite claimed Blair had dropped the shoulder into Morris's hamstring and had intent to injure his knee when he twisted it, a claim Blair refuted.

Blair will miss a crucial clash as the Tigers fight to stay in the race for the top eight. Tigers chief executive Stephen Humphreys was bemused by the guilty finding.

''We felt it was the right decision to come down tonight to challenge the charge - we're really disappointed with the result,'' Humphreys said. ''I think it sets an interesting precedent now.

''We've set the bar very low for this kind of charge. I'm concerned what that means for the rest of the players in the game.''

Its the first ever Suspension for this type of incident… While I think its a rediculous suspension, if they are going to charge EVERY incident that happens from now on, I will accept it.

I bet they dont though!!!

Maybe you should check his last game stats before making such a well informed comment
