TWO points is two points but boy we made it hard for ourselves at Parramatta Stadium.
We played some really good football early and dominated the first half to lead 19-0 at the break. Our intensity was good, we were very focused and we had the match in control.
Our defence was strong early in the second half and, when young forward Ben Murdoch-Masila scored two tries to take us to a 31-0 lead, it was game over.
Well, we thought it was. Maybe that was the problem. In fact, it was the problem. We simply clocked off.
To allow Parramatta to score five tries in 13 minutes was totally unacceptable.
Here we were, looking at one stage of perhaps keeping a side scoreless for the second time this season, and then we let the Eels score 30 points.
As we walked off the field with a 31-30 win and the two competition points in the bag, we knew it wouldn't be pretty when we walked in to our dressing room to face Tim Sheens.
And it wasn't. Sheensy was very disgusted with our poor attitude late in the game.
He told us it was totally unacceptable.
We knew it ourselves and we spoke about it as a group.
Like Tim told the media, at one stage there we were like a premiership contender, yet the way we folded late in the game we looked like an A-grade side.
As a group, we spoke about our attitude and we have vowed not to let a lead like this slip away again.
I mentioned Murdoch-Masila before. I just want to give young Benny a massive wrap.
He is an impressive young kid who goes about his business every week with little fuss.
Benny has already played for the Junior Kiwis so I'm sure he can grab a New Zealand Test jersey down the track.
This Saturday night we take on the Gold Coast Titans at Skilled Park in what will be a tough game.
The Titans will be hurting after their loss to Brisbane and out to restore pride.
With Sheens' words still ringing in our ears from Sunday, we will be determined not to clock off at any stage.
