Blair's Playing Weight

You don't need to be blind freddy to realize that Blair was a major disappointment playing for us this year considering the amount coin he is reported to be on. While i do believe it had something to do with him going from playing with a side like the Storm who play with a structure compared to playing with a side like us that appears we don't always play with structure but more to do with him playing lighter so he could play 80 minutes instead of him playing heavier at the Storm & having a spell. I recently seen a replay of the stink he had with Stewart last year & the first thing that i noticed, was that he appeared to be a lot bigger. He's a representative player that should of been able to adjust to our style of footy if that's all it was & played better than he did. I would imagine it would be the coaches decision at what weight he wants his forwards or players to play at. So if that's the case, i hope the new coach tells him to get back to the weight he was in 2011, but if he plays at or around the same weight as this year, I'm sure he would of been stung by the constant criticism & the biggest slap in the face he could get by not being picked for the kiwi's & that he will have a point to prove next year.

He has a point to prove to himself and the Tiger fans - otherwise he may follow the same path as the Parramatta 1/2 back followed in 2012, i.e. State Cup.

Adam Blair has been recalled to the Kiwis ahead of Saturday's Test against the Kangaroos in Townsville.

His call-up comes as a result of the forced withdrawal from the side of Jeremy Smith. Smith injured his shoulder in the Cronulla Sharks' last game of the NRL season.

While undergoing a medical with his new club, the Newcastle Knights, a further examination of his shoulder was suggested.

An MRI scan revealed the severity of the injury had been under-estimated and forced his withdrawal from the Kiwis.

Blair, has played 25 Tests and is the third most capped player in the Kiwis squad behind Simon Mannering and Benji Marshall.

With Blair now playing in the test due to injury, let's hope it's the kick in the arse that he needed & it will spur him on to get back to the form before he came to us.
