OFFICIAL Blake Austin [Discussion]

People talk about pre season form,for years I have seen players excel in preseason games and been talked up during the pre season,but when push comes to shove the coach rolls out the tried and trusted in round one and most weeks after . Thats what I hope might change at our club
 
For those interested in seeing how Blake goes at 5/8, he has been listed at no 6 in the final against Newcastle today.

Austin has had a hand in all three of Windsor's tries. What's even better is he was the one to take control when Windsor were behind and going sideways. Showing very great signs. Reminds me of Kieran Foran.
 
Was the difference between the teams

Went to the line well, held the ball in both hands, ran first but was also passed before and after the line. A good kicking gameto boot.

Obviously a massive gap in quality between this and first grade but he is an out and out first grader.
 
He looked the goods at this level,hope he can carry it on NRL level next year,I bet Braith hated commentating on this game,never mentioned he is playing at the WestsTigers next year,wonder why.

He did nothing but wrap him all game and said he cant wait for austin to join the tigers.

Braith probably knows he doesn't have long left in him. Is probably looking forward to mentoring our young halves

Heard something about braith's groin injury in the middle of the year inhibiting his passing ability in the backend of the season? Would explain a lot, some his passing was abysmal and his weakest point really, a minor tear would explain that and i'd be okay to give him another shot if that's fixed up.

Otherwise mentoring the halves is not a bad option. But I'd much rather a joey or fittler….

No he didn't,what game did you watch,I can't recall one time he mentioned this,he wrapped him,didn't mention 1 time he was coming to the Weststigers,neither did the other commentator.
 
They mentioned it at least twice that Austin will be with us next year. Anasta praised his work after both his tries.

Running and kicking game remind me a bit of Carney. Also seemed to be a good talker which we really need.
Faded out of the game a few times (cork or cramp or something in the last 20minutes?) & one really bad read in defence but definitely a cut above reserves.
Definitely deserves a shot at the 6 next season.
851 - try watching the game with the volume above 0 next time.
