Every time I read someone bagging Austin I think that they really are living in some sort of world of unreality. Fact is, he was great for us last year when most others didn't even try. He scored plenty, proved he was at the time the best we had, stated quite clearly that he wanted to earn his much wanted no.6 jersey and did, by his own actions, more than enough to warrant ownership of that. Now, at Canberra, when everyone says they're a lost cause of a club and team, he plays a starring role week after week and still, people here say he's no good. I can only shake my head and wonder what it is certain players need to do to be accepted as a top notch player. Yet, those same judges refer to unproven hopefuls as a better option. Go figure…...

Yes , I had major doubts about him and wanted Moses in there even with doubts about his size
it didnt take long this season to see i was completely wrong, and Blake has shown that he is the best of the new 5\8th around,
Moses has not shown anything at all to suggest that he will go on to be what some say.
Its too early to be certain of anything yet but at the moment Austin is way ahead of him and is getting better
other clubs supporters must be cracking up when they read the glorious stories of Moses's abilities and potential Soo qualities, and then actually see him play play

Yeah,Stuart probaly didn't want to make the same mistake twice,Phil Gould wanted Thurston at the Roosters when he was a bench player at the Dogs but Stuart didn't want him,probaly the start of Politis loosing faith in his coaching ability.

I like Blake Austin a lot, he is tenacious and a real competitor. I would not have let him go if we could have avoided it.

But we signed Brooks and Moses for 4 years before Austin even came on board. We tied up a lot of our salary with that decision, and we are committed to playing Brooks and Moses for as long as we can.

Austin does not fit into that plan. He knew it, we all knew it… it was not fair to keep him hanging on as a #14 or backup.

So enjoy his play at Canberra, god knows they have next to nothing else in the halves. Wish him well. Stop carrying on like a devastated ex who cannot get over the break up.

would have been fitting if his field goal attempt was successful.
just shied away at the end.
regardless of the result, a lot of teams will be wary of the raiders for remainder of the season.

Well being dropped certainly never hurt AUstin, did it, or countless others who have needed to have a stint there for various reasons,
But AUstin is closer to Soo than Moses will ever be.

When he was was with us he certainly added some vigour to our dull attack,just dropped a ball too often and some poor kicks at the wrong time but this was all coachable.
Main problem to my way of thinking was he wasn't on the same page as Robbie and the halves which again is coachable,in Canberra he's been intergrated into the attack and so far is one of the form players in the NRL.
Whether he keeps performing at this level or fades away nobody knows but if he keeps it up and his confidence remains high he will play SoO next year.

I thought he had an average game against the Bronc's,Bennett sure can coach,no matter where he was in the attacking line a Bronco went in to nullify him and were successful 90% of the time.
Interesting to see if he can adapt to the attention he is going to attract from rival Coaches.

Makes me sick watching him tear teams apart every week. Everyone says he didn't want to be here - so what he was contracted and probably not on the sort of money that was going to help our cap problems. Our recruitment/retention people are the ones who should be sacked.
