Blake Ferguson

Just an all round tool TBH. The more he associates with the clowns he hangs around with, the more he is to be avoided at all costs. For some reason he seems a mindless train wreck. A world-beater on his best day on the footy field (in attack anyhow), an absolutely unlikeable, disruptive knobber more often than not.

Was never going to be anything but with only what?…a few weeks or couple of months training under his belt

Deserved to get snotted...these wannabes just add to the sham that boxings become

Agreed, talented kids work their buts off looking for a chance, and Blake ferguson and alike make a mockery of the whole sport.

There is a number of good aussies around who just dont get the credit they deserve. Thankfully Geale is now being recognised, but in recent times guys like Peden, Dib, Bika and Katsidis have fought quality fights and not got anywhere near the recognition they should because the Fergusons and to a less of an extent mundine are putting on farcical fights

Blake Ferguson in court: "I touched her upper, inner thigh… I thought she was the blonde I hooked up with earlier at Northies."

reckon he'll sit out a year and then come back at a glamour club like Souths or Roosters, accompanied by a million media articles about how he's rebuilding his life and is a changed man etc

Ouch. I have been arguing hard for us to put in an offer for him.

I'm still a huge advocate of this guy as a footballer, but can't support us going for him with this latest news.

Oh well.

Yep, I reckon this is on the money.

No way would the NRL register him for next season now. He was already pushing it hard, convicted of indecent assault = gone.

At least one year with nothing to do with any NRL club.

Good to here he can box , he should have no trouble getting a job with a removalist company especially with the size of the bloke

When Dugan does something stupid again , perhaps they could start their own business and they could give their clients the bird

Given a 2 year good behaviour bond,so with being deregistered will probably find more trouble before his bond is up.

FALLEN NRL star Blake Ferguson has been handed a two-year good behaviour bond for grabbing a woman's crotch in a dimly-lit Sydney pub.
Ferguson was found guilty in December of indecently assaulting the woman during a night out at Cronulla's 2230 Bar, where he was celebrating his NSW Origin selection with teammate Josh Dugan.

Defence lawyer Adam Houda told Sutherland Local Court on Monday the former Canberra Raiders player's public fall from grace was punishment enough.

Ferguson's turns on the sports field catapulted him from a troubled childhood to a "world of celebrity" but his lucrative career was now in tatters and his reputation "savaged", he said. "Football was his only way out of the gutter," Mr Houda said.

"To lose your only source of livelihood - in the hundreds of thousands - and to be humiliated is punishment enough."

Boxer Anthony Mundine was in court to support his cousin.

Magistrate Jacqueline Trad said it was "naive" for anyone in the public eye to expect to escape scrutiny after committing an unprovoked assault.

"There was nothing in this situation that could be considered that it was in any way provoked," she said.

"There's no excuse, there is no circumstance where it could be appropriate to cross that line, whether or not it's caused by intoxication or whether or not it's caused by past difficulties."

Anthony Mundine's father Tony Mundine - himself a former boxing champ - said he was optimistic about Ferguson's chances of returning to rugby league.

"Blake is very lucky he got two years of bond," he told reporters outside court.

"Now he can go on and try to get a club to play for."

He said Ferguson was "going good" and was a changed man since he stopped drinking.

"If he gets back on the booze I'll knock him out," he said.

what?! so by that reasoning if you are in any way well known then having the public know about your illegal, anti social acts is punishment enough?! :crazy

im glad the judge thinks like a normal person!

I agree, his defence lawyer Adam Houda has got to be kidding, I bet if this incident had happened to a relative or associate of Houda, he would have a much different attitude.

What do you expect his lawyer to submit? That he should be locked up for life?

I heard theyre appealing this.

"We don't agree with the magistrate's findings or decisions, so we're taking this matter up to a superior court," his lawyer Adam Houda told reporters outside court.

Mr Houda said the NRL let the former Canberra player down.

"They're quite happy to throw 18-year-old kids into a culture that's embedded in alcohol, they're quite happy to throw them into the spotlight of celebrity life where every part of their movement is scrutinised but when they can't handle that pressure they want to crush them," he said.
