Blake Ferguson

Reed is good, Hodges is quality when he is on the field, Barba will be at fullback next year with Millford in the halves. Prince has retired. Hoffman sounds like a potential target for Dogs from what I hear.

If he came to us, which I strongly doubt, we would be a club in the spotlight again.

We need a calming, under the radar type of year.

Ferguson would be a thorn in our paw.

why would we be under the spotlight? no one would expect anything of us just cause we have blake ferguson and as long as he has no further off field antics that should be fine too

Too true …. We don't need to be under the spotlight again.

Re: being under the spotlight - If Sam Burgess came we would be cast in the spotlight. When Lote came it put us in the spotlight. My point is, if any world class player comes to a team they are immediately in the spotlight. So let's stop predicting that it's going to be the spotlight for the wrong reason. It's so negative! It could be freakin awesome!

And who the hell wants an "under the radar type of year"??? Not me!
I want a top 4 prelim finals kinda year where we instill fear and score tries from anywhere…. like in 2005 (the second half of the season anyway) - which ironically was meant to be an 'under the radar type of year' too.

I think what they meant by under the radar was off the field. Not having more about our players in the Confidential pages than in the sport section. And not having players who are going to go out and cause trouble for the club.

i think our next marquee signing will be in the outside backs- most likely centre. ferguson could be that player.

it's obvious potter thinks of moses and brooks as our long term halves and unless they fail miserably, i dont think there'll be any marquee halves would be bought. that leaves the forwards and as far as i can see, potter seems to be of the bennet mould of coach.. cant see potter spending big bucks on a forward.

Guessing that now that Ferguson has turned to Islam , that we all think he has turned over a new leaf and will be a golden child and should sign him immediately

Yeah exactly! Fair dinkum, the picture of him standing in that mosque with a shirt that says "haters gonna hate" was just an embarrassment to himself really. He is long-gone in the brain department. What a puppet, I wonder if Cousin Choc takes him to the toilet as well, it is getting to that stage.

With a grain of salt, but a Souths fan who occasionally gets inside word says Rabbits might be announcing Ferguson next week.

It wouldn't surprise me

Because Souths are obviously way, way, way under the cap

Obviously

I wouldnt be surprised if Souths have plenty of room for him and someone else…

They seem to be as good as Brisbane now when it comes to managing the Salary Cap.

Good on them I reckon!

Yeah… I get a giggle out of people who complain about the football business's that have clever business people running them!! That's how they have the extra "room"
That and 30,000 paying members a year helps..
As well as high profile backers... Who get high profile names (not just the blue wiggle) to the games!! The hype around the burgess boys and thier mom... Models like souths build money as opposed to ours which just limps along!!

You are joking aren't you??… Barry O'Farrell!! HAHAHAHA!!

I am talking "Popular" High profile supporters...
All the people you have mentioned above barely cause a ripple compared to these guys shot here!!

That's without mentioning others like the Madden brothers (Good Charlotte) etc. (Y'know, The ones that have sold 15 million odd records!!)
They do what we should be doing... Someone is in town for a bit, Get them some nice Gear, Get them to a game, treat them like royalty and get them in the paper!!!.... If Rusty can work it out, Why can't anyone else??

Not 100% sure how the 3rd Party side of the salary cap works but surely it doesn't matter how many members a club has, you are only allowed to spend the same as every other team on players. Would love to see the documents on how Souths, Roosters, Broncos etc manage to have this extra "room" under the cap. Shonky.

Melbourne Storm had an extra "room"….and we all know what that contained.
