Bodene Thompson Leaving The Wests Tigers

Very disappointing to hear this news , all the best Bodene .
Irvine called it a couple of days ago that Bodene wouldn't be here in 2015

We are losing players and signing no one. The revamped coaching structure, S & C, management etc is great but unfortunately they do not play.We have kept non performers on big money ( Galloway, Lawrence) and let good players on less money go ( Austin,Thompson). Something not quite right there..JT may be a top coach , we hope, but it will be to no avail if he's coaching muppets

So explain this Mr Taylor

You say in an interview that you indentified we need second rowers , and then we let a second rower go

Hope you've got another second rower up your sleeve or two that are BETTER than Thompson

Best of luck Bodene , you improved greatly in 2nd year at the Tigers

I can't see JT letting all these players go without a back up plan, I am sure he has something in the works.

Bodene was a consistent improver, sad to see him leave, hopefully if frees a little more money up for us to make a play at a good signing or 2.

Fingers crossed happy

How the hell is it JT's fault. He got a better offer & a chance to move home. This has all only just happened in the last week. Mateo leaving then Bukuya asking for a release Warriors then had a offer Tigers couldn't match. Bodene had agreed to stay. This is NOT JT's or the Tigers fault Bodene just looking out for what's best for him & his family. Nothing wrong with that.

Bukuya has been released by the Warriors as he wants to return to Sydney, surely we're in with a shot, love him as a player

They had agreed terms. Bodene was the one who brushed us. You can't blame WTs

Need to sign some solid second rowers asap.
I'm not a fan of Bodene.

See what most coaches do before it gets to this stage is find a replacement

Why does this never seem to happen at the WT's ??

Perfect example , Manly release Watmong but sign Mason and Mateo

My god, some people just have it out for the club. You're not forced to support this club.

This has absolutely nothing to do with management. The guy wanted to leave for family reasons. End of.

Good luck Bodene.

That's alright to say that . But supporters have the right to expect better and when you struggle to see where that is coming from you ask questions and get annoyed

That alright Moh , you just keep accepting the unders the Tigers continually offer

What's more Irvine's been on the mark more often than not , so a semblance of respect would be nice

Perhaps if you don't like how we support the club you could go and support Cronulla , they would suit you to the ground

Whoa…a new twist on I'm a better supporter than you.....impressive

As for Thompson...we can only take what has been stated as true...We offered him a contract...he left for family reasons.....

Opens the door for Santi to set up and fill the void....

Mate I'm not telling anyone how to support the club , I'm just putting a different angle on ways we can look at how things are progressing

Thanks for that also re Santi

11 players with combined experience of 272 games . 😱pen_mouth:

Can't hold anything against the guy going home, or even if he got a better deal considering he wasn't contracted for 2015\. What is a major worry is some of our best players from 2014 choosing the leave - Austin and now Bodene, that following Tedesco wanting to leave but eventually staying last year. Not a good sign when that many good players want to leave your club, rather than being forced out because we can't fit them in

Real question is why didn't we re-sign Thomson earlier?

wouldnt make a difference, hed just ask for a release which we'd grant. no one wants a player who doesnt want to be there.

I wonder if the rumour that Wests Tigers are to sign new players straight after the end of the Four Nations tournament comes to fruition? If the club is trying to offload 2015 Membership tickets on unsuspecting supporters for 2015 surely these supporters are entitled to know whether or not the club is, for some reason/s, flat broke and can't afford to buy any new players for the coming season.

Friggin brilliant. All one way traffic at the moment, and mostly players that made an impression during 2014\. Next year is looking very dark.

not in the room i'm in…maybe turn on the light mate...

Delusional - that is all I can say. But if it turns on your lights then great. However you might care to reflect on the fact that of the players who performed well in the games early this year which we won, we will no longer be enjoying the services of - Fulton, Austin, Gavet, Thompson and Patterson. And we have signed to replace them…...... no one!!!!!

This is the worst loss of talent I can recall since Wests lost Boyd, Brown, Raudonikus and Dorahy, but hey we have a great coaching staff now so lets break out the champers.

i think that you're reading to much into players wanting to leave. all for very different yet very understandable reasons.

Austin - Good money and a guaranteed starting spot in a young team.
Tedesco - Money was exceptional for someone his age and hard to knock back/counter
Thompson - Off contract and being in the Four Nations squad would have driven home how much he does miss New Zealand. Has been in Australia for almost 10 years if not more and with family back home that was a key thing for him.
