What a load of crap. Taylor has stuck up for Lodge on a couple of occasions when the board wanted to sack him. The outcome of the court case will likely determine whether we keep him or not. It would be incredibly harsh if we sacked such a promising player for something he was innocent of.

And the Panthers/Gould don't want or need Lodge.

Looking at our stocks up front we are in dire need of a prop. The only props available are:

Dodds, Hannatt, Matagi, Rose, Tom L-Lahrs, Mason or Prior.

For me Matt Prior would be best bet, has experience & still in his 20's. The rest are too old or too inexperienced. T L-Lahrs would be a gamble with injuries but has same attributes as Prior but probably a better player when fit

Prior is a Nuffie.

Lodge is a good player but his off filed behaviour leaves a lot to be desired. If he is found guilty of domestic violence charges then he needs to go.

JJ And Dallas are top prospects.

What I will say is that if he is released by one club, and borderline being released by his current club, that is a pattern you don't like to see with players.

Maybe JT didn't stick up for Lodge enough and maybe the guy has made too many poor decisions to keep defending.

We already know he wrote CNT on his armband, same game as Moses used a homophobic slur. Since then Lodge has been detained for refusing to leave an establishment, suspended due to the Fifita coaching issue and arrested on assault and battery.

Since that game Moses has not done anything untoward off-field. Kind of sets a pattern, no matter how hard-done-by Lodge might feel.

Lodge looks to be quite talented, and if the board & Taylor want to give him 1 more chance, I'd support that.

But I'm not sure he deserves 1 more chance, no matter how talented.

And I'm not convinced being offered "1 more chance" will ring the bell for him to make the changes he needs.

I'd hope there is a guy in the club strong enough in character & will that can sit him down & convince him to get some help for his issues- because when you see him interviewed he does not come across as a 'bad guy'.

The version ive heard of this from a guy who was in the room at the time, that Bellemy was at least equally at fault.
