OFFICIAL BOXING DISCUSSION

Finally worked while Tyson was interviewed after the fight, unbelievable, oh well better late than never bwahahahaaaaaaaa hahahaaaaaaaaaaa

It was entertaining.
Both fighters held back. Paul probably more so than Tyson.
Tyson tripled his wealth. I don’t begrudge him after he lost his $400m fight proceeds by age 37. Says he can’t say no to another fight 😜 if it’s free again I’ll probably watch .

Thank goodness that wasn't PPV
One of those rare occasions when the prelims were better than the main event. Poor ole Mike, his trademark head swerve now makes him dizzy and unsteady on his feet. His lethal left hook has lost its timing, possibly due to his right knee giving way.
If Hollywood make a movie about his life story Ill probably watch it, but not if I have to pay.
Well played Iron Mike

Was tough to watch a hero, badass and winner have zero chance of winning that fight. The rage that made him so devastating left him long ago. However I agree with many this battle dosent define who the legend Mike Tyson was and still is. The greatest boxer of all time!

You need to watch more boxing or believe less hype.
Evander Holyfield handled Mike easily twice. Evander also isn't close to being the GOAT.
Tyson was a hyped up bully who came up short the first time his opponent fought the man not the hype and stood up to him.

The character and story aka the hype play a huge part in boxing…I will agree a lot of his matches the op had no where near his size

And Holyfield was a cruiserweight at first. I will say that 1987ish era Tyson was incredible. Sure some guys were intimidated and lost before they went in the ring but not all of them.

His opponents had good reason to fear him. He was open about his intentions, as he often stated, “I’m going to kill him.” Not many fighters declare their intent to commit murder.
His aggression was unmatched.
Kinda reminds me of the Bradman approach to batting. The purpose is to score runs, not to defend the bowler.

A 28 year old beats a 58 year old and the loser gets $30 mill
IMO totally ridiculous
Like a lot of things happening in America these days Absurd!!!

For those saying Tyson’s legacy won’t be affected by yesterday, I put it to you that for most people, he will be remembered as a fat, slow old man who was too scared to mix it with a YouTuber, who himself is an average fighter at best.
Congrats on the payday…hope it was worth it.

I dunno, I think the average pro heavyweight, especially in that era, assumed fairly bad intent from the other guy. Even Larry Holmes.

Don't be too hard on Evander. I'm not saying he's the GOAT but a cruiserweight who always fought the biggest and best heavyweights, and if they beat him backed up again and beat them, he's legendary. I shook hands with him at the Sydney Olympics and he's not much bigger than me. ( in much better shape, of course ) I can't believe how much he achieved as a heavyweight.

Evander was a very good fighter, I'm just saying that he isn't in the conversation for the GOAT.
I was just adding a bid of context to the revisionist history around Tyson's ability.
