Luckily I did not see any of the undercard but the reaction I witnessed at the Club there seemed no disappointment at ll with the main bout. There was still plenty of emotion both sides. I would go to a re-match.

My boxer mate said that maybe Mundine did not see the referee interfering when landing that supposedly cheap shot. Looking at video replay that it quite possible.

Your boxer mate is wrong. Choco knew exactly what he was doing. It was an opportunistic dog shot and he didnt hesitate to take it because he is a dog person.

I checked the video out about 4 times and looking at the angles and where the three persons are situated I don't think it can be clearly established. Maybe that is why the ref did not disqualify him. Well Choc ends his career on that controversy well then what a way to go. Green deserved it for ruining a good fight.

Proof perhaps that 3 is a crowd

In 100 years time Mundine and Green's Grandkids will be fighting each other

I'm sure the ref clearly called 'break' before choc dog shotted him.
But that was at the time, in a noisy RSL club… So I dunno
Now im no expert but I always assumed just from watching boxing that break means stop and they don't start again until the ref says "box"

My mate stated that what Green was doing immediately prior to the punch was illegal so works both ways.

He punched a guy turned away from him. It was a dog shot and Mundine knew what he was doing. Your mate is FOS.

If Green couldn't fight on Mundine would have been DQ'd.

My FOS mate is also an ex-Aust boxing champion.

Yeah, like your mates who played for Wests.

Know a few ex Test cricketers too I suppose?

Glad you asked, Rick McCosker from yonks back. I don't recall my mentioning any mates playing for Wests. I knew some hangers on, Cobba Davis was one. I knew JacK Brabham, we used to chat occasionally, if that helps my resum'e.

Oh really?
When did they introduce free shots?

Nah Ink his mate who shall remain unnamed knows best. He phoned up his other mates Jeff Fenech and Don King and they both agreed.

I thought his mate used to play for Newtown? Either way BBF seems to have forgotten about him.
How about the fat Parra fans down the club Byron, I eager to know their thoughts.

One of the doctors controlling the fight wanted to call the fight off due to Green's concussion.

"Green admitted he was concussed after one round but said he had wanted to fight on.

"I'm just going 'let's fight, let's fight, I'm good to go' because that's what you do if you're a warrior," he told the media this week.
"You just do that. You wanna fight, you don't know what the rules are — **mate I didn't know if I was Arthur or Martha."**
–-------------------------------------------------------------------

As Mundine was not penalised for that punch and if the fight was finished would it have been a TKO in Mundine's favour?

As we know Choc has old fashioned views about gays Green would have been safe even if being Martha.

He was penalised for it - he was docked a point. If the fight had been ended due to an illegal punch from Mundine (which is what it was classified as) then Mundine would have been disqualified.

That mate has a big mouth is famous for getting into fights and he already had a few beers under his belt at 10.30pm so I avoided him after a few rounds.

Someone's actions says more about a person and if he did sit down during the Anthem well his a peanut cause some Indigenous people I work with were disgusted by his action he was going to take….not sure whether he went through with it.
**Let's just keep teaching our next generation to continue the hate and divide us all.**
Sitting down during our National Anthem is the lowest disrespect you can give any Country in the World unless obviously you have a disability that doesn't allow you to stand and acknowledge an Anthem.

Agree totally with this. Whether we like it or not, Mundine is influential to many Aboriginal people so he has a real opportunity to help unite the country if he could be constructive and positive.

Instead, he is divisive, antagonistic and hateful.

While people of his ilk are champions of 'their' people, the divide will continue.

Anthony Mundine has placed an appeal to the Australian National Boxing Federation to contest the result of Mundine v Green 2, much to the anger of his close rival Danny Green.

Many felt Mundine was harshly done by in the bout where ''Choc'' lost to Green by majority decision 94-94, 96-94 and 98-90.
The judge who posted a 98-90 spoke publicly about scoring the bout incorrectly and even Green admitted he didn't win by that big a margin.
“I didn’t win by eight points. No chance,” Green said.
“It was a close fight.”

That may have given Mundine the confidence to lodge an appeal, but Green is fuming over the 'unsportsmanlike' conduct.
“All it is is an appeal, it doesn’t mean anything’s going to happen,” Green told Perth radio station Mix 94.5.
“I expect nothing less from such a poor sport.
“He showed disgraceful sportsmanship in the ring and I expect nothing less from someone of his character — his poor character — after the fight.”
Green opened up about that 'dog shot' in the first round.
“I’m just disappointed not to carry it out how I felt for the first 30-45 seconds. I felt very confident he was s******* himself — you could see the look in his eyes,” Green said.
“I hit him with a couple of clean shots, I felt sharp early, then he threw that dog shot and it just changed the game.

If Mundine gets at result his way surely fight 3 will pack the clubs out again.

Why doesn't Green mentioned how he elbowed Mundine around mid fight.

Green slams Mundine boxing result appeal
By Melissa Woods

Danny Green has called Anthony Mundine a "poor sport" for lodging an official protest over over his points-decision loss last Friday. Green said he would expect nothing less from his long-time rival, who he edged out in a spiteful encounter in Adelaide.

"He showed disgraceful sportsmanship in the ring and I expect nothing less from someone of his character - his poor character – after the fight," Green told Perth radio station Mix 94.5 on Thursday.
"I expect nothing less from such a poor sport. All it is is an appeal, it doesn't mean anything's going to happen."

Mundine reportedly filed the appeal on Wednesday with the Australian National Boxing Federation, which must agree to hear the appeal, in the hope of getting the result changed to 'no decision'.If the federation agrees, three independent local judges will be locked into three separate rooms with videos of the fight and new scorecards. Their score counts will determine if Green's win stands.

Green also hit out at Mundine's tactics, throwing a late punch in the first round when the West Australian had his back turned as the referee was separating them. "I hit him with a couple of clean shots, I felt sharp early, then he threw that dog shot and it just changed the game," Green said. "It was just a disgraceful foul, it was incredible that he did it."

A question , how often are fights actually appealed ??

First time I can remember it happening in Australia that I have heard of

Green looked fat, unfit and totally out of his depth. How much that had to do with the early dog shot is hard to gauge. A rematch would see Green beat by TKO in my opinion. Mundine ruined his own career by moving down in weight. He is much stronger and takes a better punch with weight on. Miguel Cotto used to get knocked down all the time and look out on his feet until he moved up in weight. At first i thought "he will get knocked out against bigger guys" but the extra weight he had made him so much stronger. Its the same with Mundine i think.

Green is finished.
