Braith Anasta charged

we dont even know if he will get time yet… He has no carry over points, career clean sheet, honestly I see him getting off.

This place is speculation central, every thread jumps straight to roster changes... Wonder why the journos stir us up so often? They dont know how well their column is circulating, nor if they have inspired debate and thus done their job well if we didnt flip out in black and white about every speck of printed turd they dribbled.
 
Anasta, the lamb being charged, one must be joking. He is one of the smallest and cleanest player I have seen that played the game.There wasn't even any forward momentum in the tackle at all, I am really surprised. There have been a lot worst shoulder's tackle than this one and given a penalty and nothing else.From now on, every shoulder charge must end up with a charged, otherwise the judiciary wouldn't be doing their job, otherwise they should hang their head in shame.
 
gee if Braith has been charged for the " shoulder charge", then how long is Daly Cherry-Evans going to get for the deliberate knee to Liam Fulton's face?

Mongs are protected - and DCE does that kind of stuff all the time - particularly when Manly are losing.

doesn't suprise me. :unamused: protected fauna once again, just like in the 70's & 80's when ken Arthurson was there, and they wonder why they are despised. :rant
 
Who cares if Braith is out for a week or two. He is running on old legs. Always like seeing youth and exciting players given a chance. How far did Sheens get putting his faith in old campaigners that offered little?
 
After watching Cowboys tonight I am now sure that the last thing we need for next Saturday is a number of risky changes in our backline. Anasta is a steadying influence and can tackle. We need him on the field on Saturday. Koro and Austin at this stage represent chinks in our backline defence especially with Lawrence still in the bit iffy stage.
 
ok we might be a bit worse defensively. However Austin can set up points for us. It offsets for me. Inside the 20 Braith is not a worry for opposition team. Austin will be.
 
hope he fights it.. it's a win-win IMO.. if he wins, then we get a consistent spine and if he loses, it gives austin at least 2 games to stamp his authority.

People thinking we aren't going to miss Anasta this week will be surprised

Bet a few Cowboys forwards are looking at Austin and Brooks names with a grin on their face

They don't have Teddy looping behind to provide a second man option and Farah is going to feel the need to takeover

The one thing with Anasta is we have one of the best defenders in the 6 jersey Hope it doesn't change with Austin

Real test for Potters coaching this week imo
 
Anasta is a steadying influence, we will miss him.Austin will add attacking flair into the equation and this is an opportunity for him to show us what he has at NRL level.Austin will also have speed we can draw on, now with Teddy having a break.
 
I really thought we would have fought Braiths charge given his career clean sheet, maybe they still will be, but they just named Austin…
 
I am interested in whether the choice rested with Anasta, or the club made the decision for him?

I would have thought that he would like to contest it, especially given he is a cleanskin and there was little contact in it. Can't see him wanting to give Austin a chance to take his spot and one match may well be enough to get his foot in the door.

I assume that Potter is using this as an opportunity to give Blake a shot, whilst not having to drop Braith to enable it.
 
I'm looking forward to it. No doubt Austin has to perform for any chance of retaining his spot, it is the ultimate situation for a football team to bring out the best in the players.

Nobody should be comfortable!
