Braith Anasta

IM really worried about this guy. I watched him very closely after he signed with us last year and he is running on old legs. People can say as much as they like that he will add experience, or control or guidence?? However can you really do that from the backrow position on the left side od the field running on old legs. He got smashed tonight, missed tackles, lacked impact and work rate. It would be ok if he had size around him however throw him in with Fulton, and Blair and like i said in pre season itsthe worst backrow in the comp.

I honestly think he is going to prove to be just past his best. Probably a good guy to have around the club but maybe more suited in a coaching capacity. This might seem very harsh however i watched his last two years at the Chooks and he was really bad.

Maybe if Miller proves shocking he can slot into the halves and we can kill time before Potter has a chance to recruit properly or bring in a halfback of use. I don't want to punt Miller and he is a specialist half so I would leave him there personally. Im just talking from Anasta's point of view, it might be less embarrassing for him.

Maybe he will prove me wrong. I really liked him as a footballer. I thought he was very good 4-5 years ago and at Canterbury. However the way the modern game is you need sizem power and impact in the forwards. He doesnt have it and i think he is running on old legs.

If tonight is any indication, he could be one of our worst signings ever.

I expected him to offer little impact in attack but his defense was truly abysmal tonight. Topped the missed tackle count and was a turnstile all night.

He is a decent player in the right structure but exactly the type of player we did not need in the backrow. Now we are stuck with him for two years. Thanks Sheens.

Yeah there was a Roosters dude on the forum a few weeks back saying exactly this and said we would rue his signing….

oh god put Anasta at halfback and lock us in for the spoon, he is no half how about we just release him problem solved and frees up the cap

Should have retired at the end of 2012.

He's horrendous, only ever played well against the tigers now he has nothing to hang onto.

All I saw tonight was his terrible defence, atrocious ball skills & absolute pea heartedness when he took a backwards step in sheer fright over beau scott.

Still would like to see him with Tedesco at fullback before I completely write him off

Problem is defensively we have him and Fulton playing with the worst centre pairing in the NRL defensively and he and Fulton are in two minds every time any side comes left or right

Not the greatest of debut's I will agree. However the jury is out from me for now. Granted he's not 22 any more and at the stage of his career where he will lose his quality, I do think we need to realise his game is changing. He said as much himself. What we get out of him is questionable and his worth debatable. For now though I think he should be given a fair go.

I was excited about the Anasta signing, then I heard sheens was going to play him in the halves and I nearly cried. When potter came in and said he would be a back rower I was happy again, but after tonight…wow...I know he was trying in the last 20 but he was just terrible all round

I'm still confident that he will be a good signing. He is a better player then what he showed today.

We need backrowers who run hard, make some yards & then hit hard in defence. If Anasta was bought to give the team direction and to help the kicking game out, well then what are miller & Robbie doing???

I don't think Anasta was that bad last night. Sure he dropped two balls and missed a few tackles, but there were around half a dozen other players who were far worse.
