Braith v Robbie as captain

I cannot believe this thread exists.

Me either to be honest.

Farah represents the club on AND off the field with loyalty, integrity and skill. Anasta, whilst I suspect will be an awesome calming influence on all of them, is not representative of Wests Tigers history or leadership.

Well in actual fact the club has a new coach and the coach will name his captain in due course. He might have a total differing view what he sees in a captain. To be honest the coach will decide this ….. as most here wanted a new coach this goes with the territory. As coach Potter has stated no ones position is safe fair call I say .

Please state a valid reason why a masts would be chosen as captain. Potter being a new coach aside.

I can understand what your getting at Happy with it being in Farah/teams best interest if someone else was captain but I just couldn't see him wanting to give up the responsibility. I see him as a natural leader and yeah he doesn't need the © next to his name to be able to still play like that but I believe the extra responsibility doesn't effect his game at all. On a side note, I hadn't contemplated Anasta taking over the goal kicking duties off Benji until someone posted it but they brought up a good point in that Benji, Farah and Miller could be back behind half way organising what they wanted in the next set while Anasta was lining up the conversion.

Robbie Farah is the best hooker in the game he has to stay caption cant wait untill we confirm the re signing of him.

Caption! :rant - you do this on purpose don't you?

No way in the world robbie is our captain and that's that. Not only should he be out captain he should be the blues captain. If we want to risk losing him to parra then yeah put anasta captain.

And take the Captaincy off Gallen? yeah right

i think this is a good debate subject, and therefore a good thread.

imo, benji is a good goal kicker and just keeps getting better. wouldn't give that to anasta.

i will likely upset a few people here, but two things regarding robbie's captaincy have always stuck in my memory: 1\. first round a couple (?) of years ago when sheens started him on the bench at the after match pc he sat there like a petulant child, and 2\. reading everywhere he had "SOO" written on his wrist taping.

forgive me for being harsh, and please do correct me if he has changed/matured in the captaincy role, but for mine i was not happy at the captain looking so unprofessional at the pc and also, even more so, that he went into a tigers game with a very personal, dare i say selfish, symbol on his wrist. i also think he puts in more effort in the lead up to the origin series.

i think farah is the type who covets the captaincy possibly a little too much. again, sorry if i offend anyone, but hey, maybe i can start a little battle on here with people for and against my opinion?

I would have thought that the SOO on the wrist was a motivator. Farah is a very competitive, goal driven player and it's not out of the ordinary to see players with personal goals/motto's written on their wrist taping. Not attempting to start an argument with you here, just my take on it.

As for the press conference, I don't even remember that. He never looks happy after a loss though to be honest.

Well , Gallen has been quoted as saying Farah should be the next captain.
Anything happens to Gallen and he'll be running the team out - he is the obvious choice.
