Broncos defence

It was great defence.

But I will say that a spine of Munster-Green-Hampton-Smith isn't a patch on Slater-Green-Cronk-Smith.

You don't have to have that spine to capitalize on 11 forced drop outs.

The game itself suggests otherwise?

The game suggested it was an amazing defensive effort. Its easy to say things would have been different if the Storm had their spine, but you will never know.

Actually I think your second comment is fair enough, that you shouldn't have to have a great spine to capitalise on so much attacking possession.

But for me, the game was as much about great defence as it was a failure to execute with superior possession. You really shouldn't lose a game with that much dominance with the ball.

You are right, we cannot know what would have happened had Cronk and Slater been playing. But what I do know is if Tigers had played that same game and lost by 2 points at home to Broncos, we would not be lauding the Broncos defence, we would be savagely criticising our team's final execution in attack.

It had one of the tackles of the yr right at the end when Kaufusi went through a gap 5m out, and Matt Parcell came from nowhere and crunched him.

Awsome effort,as a club the Broncos are just so professional in every thing they do on and off the field.

Including having that pesky lil 'salary cap issue' from last year conveniently swept under the carpet quicker than Nate Myles can soil a carpet. Never really heard much about it TBH….. maybe Andrew Gee just resigned in an instant and refused to answer questions on the subject by the NRL heirachy because he had nothing to hide? Pretty suss. Great defence by the Bronc-ho's yesterday but Melbourne's attack was pretty bog average apart from the forced dropouts.

People have criticized Bennett saying that the only reason he's having success this yr is because he has a side choc full of Origin stars, but is it really? The last 3 yrs, the Broncos have struggled and only just managed to sneak into the 8 when they made it at all. The only players they've added this yr are Milford and Boyd, and Boyd was out for the first third of the yr and came back when they were already on top of the table.

True… To an extent. - They also added Blair. While his form has been ordinary, His professionalism and leadership shouldn't be doubted.
Most of the Young fellas they've been blooding the last couple of years are also coming of age... Copely, Hunt etc...
3 Years ago no one would have swapped Brooks for Hunt, Hunt was ordinary (Despite big wraps) in 3 years time who knows how it will be....
