Broncos have a 26-1 record with Chris and Gerard Sutton reffing

Surely this has got to be looked at cos thats ridiculous. If the Suttons aren't getting paid off by Brisbane I'd be very surprised.

I have not looked at their numbers but you would think since the Sutton’s have been around they would be winning at about 55 % of all their matches so the Sutton stats are way out. Surely the NRL must wonder how this happens. I guess you also have to look at who their opponents were in those 27 games but Sutton usually gets good matches

Ashley Klein wouldn't be far behind Sutton's record with the Broncos.

Tables say 26-18 not 26-1? Melbourne under Gerard Sutton are 25-13.

Because Melbourne are a powerhouse team. Over the last 10years those numbers would be similar for most refs i reckon you'll find.

But yeah the Broncs are a joke and rort everything

Well the tables say that Broncos' record under Sutton is 1.25% better under Sutton than their average, so yes similar for most refs because Broncs win ~57% of their matches. Storm win ~69% of their games, dropping to 66% under Sutton, but again quite consistent.

The point I was making was that Broncos don't really have a much better record under Sutton, according to these tables, than other clubs. In fact the winningest side under Sutton is Warriors, up nearly 12% when he refs.

And ironically Tigers are up nearly 9% under Sutton - so much stronger than Broncos. Diff being Sutton has reffed Broncos about twice as often as us, I assume because of the higher-profile games, including finals, and Sutton being a higher-tier ref.

Gerard has been given the roosters v sharks game for this weekend.

Gerard Sutton has a record of 14 straight wins for the Bronco's at Suncorp, actually may be a little more, but the run is still going.

OP is correct for Broncos games at Suncorp.

Gerard Sutton is up to 16 straight now but don't worry Dragons you got "lucky" with Chris Sutton who has a more equitable 10-1 record. #penaltybroncos

Deceiving stat in many respects - Broncos have won 20 lost 7 in the last 2 years at Suncorp, including 7 of the last 8\. Arguably, if you cherry-pick the refs, you may expect to find several with a considerable run of reffing Broncos wins at home.

Surely Melbourne has similar ref stats for Olympic Park? They are 19 wins 6 losses in the past 2 years.

Actually why guess - I looked it up. Storm are 12 wins 1 loss in the last 13 games reffed by Gerard Sutton (any venue) and 8-1 specifically at AAMI Park. Storm are 18-1-5 with Matt Cecchin reffing at AAMI Park. They are 13-3 under Ben Cummins there too. 6-0 under Gavin Reynolds; 9-0 under Alan Shortall; 8-2 under Grant Atkins.
