Broncos v Cowboys. Does anyone really care?

I seem to remember Thurston dropping the ball for a Broncos Try….

Matt Scott or Granville would have been better choices IMO...

I must have watched a different game Thurston showed why he is the best in the game tonight, he was all over the park in defence and attack. Got smashed but got up again, the last try they scored he pushed those 2 props who smashed him all game off to spread it. Touched the ball more than any other player including the Cowboys hookers in that last 30mins.

Milford was brilliant in attack a handful of times but only when open play occurred for the Broncos aside from that didn't do much.

Milford was a shoe in had the Donkeys got up, but it wasn't to be. I would've given it to Scott, he and Tamou were excellent going forward, JT and Morgan stood up when it mattered.

Granville was on track early for sure but only played 40 or 50 minutes and didn't do much after the first two cowboys tries. No way Scott outplayed Thurston. Thurston got knocked down but back up all day, covered kicks, covered in defence, tried harder than any other player on the field, touched the ball more than any other player. If Milford takes that tackle in the last minute he win MOM but he blew and JT took it so he gets it.
 
Great Grand Final and second best I have ever seen just behind 1989.

I love WT but from day one in 2015 have backed Cowboys to win as they had the best roster and best player in the game. Also thought they had been ripped off the last couple of years.

This should now allow the JT debate about being an Immortal be settled once and for all.
 
The first I've cared about in a while to be honest as it was always shaping up to be a cracker and was even better than could have hoped for….

Congrats to the Cowboys.

They'll be over the moon from Townsville to Broome....

Best GF i've ever seen, hands down, bar none. Did not think it was possible they could top their game from a few weeks ago, but i think they might have. The two games they've played the last month are just about the best 2 games of the last 3 yrs. Gut wrenching way for the Broncs to lose. Definitely didn't deserve to lose like that given how mammoth their defence has been this yr. They'll be back though. I have no doubt that a premiership is just around the corner for them in the next 2 or 3 yrs.

On JT, i seriously had Benny Elias' cross bar field goal attempt running through my mind when he missed the shot. I thought that that was a sign a GF was never meant to be for him, but it wasn't. I now think he's surpassed Joey as a player. At the very least he's surpassed Joey as a person as he is 10 times the person Joey will ever be.
 
Best grand final of all time, in my eyes at least. Not old enough to have seen '89, only other one that would compete is '97, but this tops it.

Not just the finish, both teams played the game the way it should be played. great advertisement for the game. I'm so glad the penalty flood of Roosters and dirty tactics Storm missed out.

AND JOHNATHAN THURSTON = IMMORTAL

My only reason for not giving this GF the ultimate compliment was the game lost itself for about 20 minutes in the second half

In 1989 the massive game breaking decisions and plays continued to ebb and flow and just didn't seem to end

Yep -have to agree. Was at the 89 GF great game but devastating result for us former Balmain fans. Very similar games in lots of ways , but the JT factor will ensure that this game will go down as one of the greatest victories of all time led - by one of Rugby Leagues true champions. Super effort by both teams, loved every minute of it.
 
Feel bloody sorry for Ben Hunt: as far as broncos go he is a good fella. RL is cruel. Cows dezrved to win and yeeeeeeeahhhhhhh. Congratulations to the Cows
