Bronson Harrison back on the market?

ST George Illawarra’s off-season recruitment has snared two more names, with experienced rake Heath L’Estrange and halfback Beau Henry joining the NRL club, while backrower Bronson Harrison has been shown the door.

The 29-year-old Harrison, who spent nine seasons at Wests Tigers and Canberra before linking with the Dragons in 2013, was cut loose along with Josh Ailaomai, Willie Mataka and Shane Pumipi.

Thoughts? Would be a good pickup or not? Always loved him at the Tiges

Hmmm tbh I quite like all four of the guys they let go for depth. Shane Pumipi, Willie Mataka, Josh Ailaomai are all good. Aialomai was really good at the Knights and Roosters and I'm surprised he didn't get a shot at the Dragons. Pumipi and Mataka would be good for depth and both are mature footballers. Pumipi would be a good utility player to have around and plays in positions we lack depth in. Mataka is a weird one because he looked a certain first grader when he debuted for us. Harrison is 29 now and would probably gun it if he came home and is a player in a position we're weak in. If we can get that first couple of years of Raiders form back in him he'd be great. None of them break the bank. If we can get any of them on second tier that'd be excellent.

Josh Ailaomai also went to school with my girlfriend.
Not a fan of him as a player.

Mataka was an up and comer when at the tigers….
Haven't seen much of him in recent years

Pass on all of them. Harrison would be the only one I'd consider and that would be on a second tier contract for depth.

Bronson has major issues in defense, last thing we need is a player who has to be carried in defense, especially a forward

If we buy even some of these players currently being discussed on this forum all I can say is that Wests Tigers would be certain 2015 State Cup winners. Unfortunately the players would be unlikely to improve on our first grade side's recent form. In other words instead of buying three fringe players for x amount of dollars the club should be spending that x amount on only one class player who is likely to make an impact in our first grade side.

If we can get him on a 2 nd tier contract hell yes at lest the bloke has a go unlike sironen

Was a good player for us when he was younger. But he hasn't been setting the world on fire the last few years. So no… Super League might be his next best destination.

Valid point you make Mama,we need a classy backrower not a player searching for his next meal ticket..

Bronson was good for us when he was here, but he moved on,so should we….
