Brooks and Moses - At least one will not kick on

with due respect to the OP, there are a hell of a lot of good judges saying that they will both be 'superstars' (a word I hate to be honest). However, I will be bow to their combined knowledge of the game and continue to look a season or two down the track with a great deal of optimism. So easy to bag out these guys when even hardened first grade halves would have been having a very hard time of it in similar circumstances with our forwards on the back foot for nearly the entire 80 minutes!
If you are looking to lay blame anywhere, then I'd be looking at the soft underbelly of our pigs - again.

Yeti,
I agree precisely with your post, which you may think strange , seeing that I have a different opinion as to how they are handling 1st grade. Particularly Moses.
However the last halfof your post about "even hardened first grade Halves would be having a hard time"is exactly the reason that I am worried about them. These aren't hardened first graders , Gus was right, they're kids.
I agree that we shouldn't be blaming the kids themselves, they are not responsible for the makeup of the team or the fact that they've in the top grade, whatever their age is.
As we know , first grade is a different world than anything they have done previously.
And has chewed up more young future superstars than you'd care to remember
In a team like the Roosters for example their chances would probably be enhanced, but luckily ( or unluckily, depending which way you like to look at it) we're not the Roosters, or any other top club.

I don't know about that particular lobby group - but there seems to be another lobby group that doesn't like Moses purely because of his geographical and family ties.

I think that this is more true. I don't get the hate towards Moses. He hasn't killed them but he looks okay to me. He hasn't had a shocker or anything close to it. I'm okay with that at the moment.

I don't hate him!!!
Not sure anyone else does either.

Got to say i'm tired of any time someone is critical of a player now, they have to defend themselves over the players lineage. God forbid you don't rate a player on actual ability. No instead We gotta justify ourselves to a bunch of ultra sensitive dinosaurs. I never rated Matt Groat, not from day 1\. Is someone going to accuse me of just not rating him cos of his ''geographical and family ties''?

Why do you think everything is about you?
You can't seriously say there haven't been plenty of comments about Sironen only being in the team because of his father, and Moses preferred because of Uncle Benny?
Someone is ultra sensitive but it ain't this old dinosaur.

Bottom line is Moses does not get involved enough for me and he is a speed bump in defence and before you go and tell me he is only a kid he is playing 1 st grade and he just is not up to it atm

Fair comment

Brooks might be okay with a decent five eighth alongside him. Moses will disappear before seasons end. All these so called good judges are basing their assessment solely on under 20's form, until they show something in first grade don't get too carried away with the hype. The worst mistake the Tigers have ever made, apart from releasing Blake Austin and Koroibete, was putting all their eggs in the Brooks/Moses basket. Massive fail.

I disagree with the thread title. I think we will all be singing their praises in a couple of years time. Gus summed it up well last night - "They're both babies still".

Here we go again - KORO and AUSTIN were released because they didn't want to stay.
Were you going to chain them to the other players or something?????

We'll file this post for you " Moses will disappear before seasons end".

You can file this - Moses is better than Koro and Austin put together and then some.
Massive Tick.

Can we just drop this palava for once and for all. They were released because they are obviously quality first graders and we choose Moses and Richards over them.

The question is was it the right decision. Time will tell with regards to Moses. I think we might have gotten this one right. When it comes to Richards I think its obvious that this was the wrong call.

I hope that this comes true. I think he looks likely. I also thought Tedesco looked likely.

Mark Gasnier had a better passing game than Austin, I wish I was being funny, but its the brutal truth. In the short term, Austin may have been useful, though the mild anguish of having two apprentices on the park while nutting out a new football system will play long term dividends.

There was also reasons Koro wasnt starting, and it wasnt just Pat's kicking game. The passport saga was a glimpse into his lack of professionalism. Unfortunately he was one of those cases where he learned some brutal life truths in our ranks, got a second bite at the cherry and isnt repeating them. So be it.

Haha sure you're not.

Your little games don't work with me.
As per usual you only pick a few things out to be a nark so you can then continue on snapping at peoples heels waiting for a response you can then get all uppity about.
You don't do that?
Haha sure you don't.

lol… Nice hedging of the bets there.

Both will play over 100 NRL games and that alone is a great achievement.

Brooks is still trying to work out when to control a game, and can get a little 2-left-footed, but has class to play many more NRL Seasons. His greatest asset is his ability to not be caught up with the bright lights.

Moses by the end of 2016 will be commanding top dollars much like Milford. He has structure and flair that every team needs. Once he settles into the team, watch him fly!

Both are 1-2 years away from reaching there potential!

I agree with you about Brooks. This year he has been a lot better than last year, and has laid on some good tries. His decision making still isn't quite there and he is still learning how to control a game, but those things come with experience. I am almost certain he will play 150 games at NRL level, he is that good.

Moses though I am still a little unsure about. I think he's got it in him, but he has to start showing a little more. I think if he had a year or two with an experienced halfback partnering him, he'd be a little more confident, but I still just don't know about him. That said, I am more worried we give up on him too early than persist with him too long.
