@tigerdre said:I think we should play Austin at 5/8 and Moses should grow into his body in state cup…......Oh wait a minute we let Austin go cause we thought Moses was a better prospect.smart move :crazy
@thesquid said:Not one of these so called good judges called Austin an origin bolter. Some of us knew he had it in him, but were drowned out by the people who were afraid Austin was going to take the limelight and position from Moses.
@GNR4LIFE said:What if i said i think Moltzen should replace Moses at 5/8 at present CK. There's some conflicting interests for you with Timmy being your boy.

You never give up trying, do you?
Double yawn.
Play with the kids and leave me alone. :unamused:

Both will play over 100 NRL games and that alone is a great achievement.
Brooks is still trying to work out when to control a game, and can get a little 2-left-footed, but has class to play many more NRL Seasons. His greatest asset is his ability to not be caught up with the bright lights.
Moses by the end of 2016 will be commanding top dollars much like Milford. He has structure and flair that every team needs. Once he settles into the team, watch him fly!
Both are 1-2 years away from reaching there potential!
exactly, people dont understand how hard it is to control an NRL game at 20 years old with no one to help you out excpet another 20 year old.
keary is going alrightttt and people are saying he could play origin in a year or two. he's 23 bloody years old and has adam reynolds helping him out too. so people want him to play origin at 24 or 25.
thats 5 years away for brooks and moses. they will be very good players, maybe not amazing (international standard) but they will be very good at least.

Lol.. Most "Internationals" are just that. Good to very good players. I would be very happy if our halfs became that. To be smart enough to control the game and able to close it off in tight situations makes a good half.
@Telltails said:They will both be great players - but in becoming great they will make plenty of errors. Just like all halves - because they play for eighty and they handle the ball more than other players. I think its about time that some of the knockers start critiquing the games of other halves in the game - I think you will find that all halves are pretty much speed humps for the likes of Tony Williams, Pritchard,Cordner,Fifita and the big running forwards especially when teams are defending the line. Mitchell Pearce probably the best defending half in the game atm( and he is also surrounded by a team with a great defensive record to support him) - its taken him years to get to that level, and he also copped a heap of criticism by all the good judges who said he was only ever picked because of his fathers influence in the game. Now his running game has also improved. I get why people are impatient due to this desire to have instant results - but to write either of them off at this stage based on what you have seen so far, is ridiculous.

Our forwards were destroyed, our halves are not defensive giants. Most halves arent, their forwards just protect them better in the defensive line. Darren Lokyer was one of the worst defensive 5/8's i've seen. But was well protected (given a helping hand) by the likes of tonie carrol etc throughout his career at #6.
Thurston is another who struggled massively for years defensively.
Blake Austin saw an opportunity at a certain starting 6 role at canberra rather than fight for the position against one of our junior golden boys. Remember Austin was contracted for this year but HE asked for the release. Personally i think the club should have denied his request but i think many believe we did the right thing not keeping him here if he didnt want to be here.
In my opinion Jason Taylor's game plan is way too conservative. If we are to see the best out of Brooks and Moses they need to be able to roam, not parked on either side of the field.
