Brooks out for the rest of the season

Hallelujah!!! Imagine thinking this is anything but great to news to many on this forum. I hate having to talk about him.

Luke Brooks may have played his last game for the Wests Tigers. Brooks is expected to miss up to six weeks with a calf injury, meaning he is unlikely to pull on a Tigers jersey again this season.

The bigger question is whether he has made his last appearance for the club as Tigers officials prepare to sit down with the embattled half to determine whether he wants to be part of the future under incoming coach Tim Sheens and his assistants Benji Marshall and Robbie Farah.

Brooks has been linked with Newcastle and it is believed they retain an interest in signing the former Dally M halfback of the year, provided it is at the right price.

It is understood Brooks’ contract soars north of $1 million next season, meaning any move by the Knights would be contingent on the Tigers contributing a portion of his salary.

Brooks’ injury woes are likely to mean that Jackson Hastings reverts to halfback for the remainder of the season, starting with Saturday night’s game against the Brisbane Broncos at Suncorp Stadium.

I don't wish injury upon anyone and anyway this is far from ideal, as it means that other teams won't consider taking him for next year! If there is a silver lining it is thus likely only temporary.
Take the good with the bad I guess. Or in our case, we just take the bad with the bad.

Taking a long-term 'glass half full' view, the Brooks injury may be a blessing in disguise.

It will give Sheens a chance to assess Madden in the Hastings (Lock), Madden (Half) & Doeuihi (5/8) structure.

It will give Madden a chance to show what he can do over a prolonged period and whether he is up to it.

It will give Brooks a chance to have a break, clear his mind, re-charge, re-set his goals & hit pre-season full of motivation.

Am I the only one who feels a little reminiscent? No Brooks or Noffa for the rest of the season. I'm definitely not their biggest fan but I can't remember the last time we played a string of games without them. And no Twal either.
Lovely thoughts, nothing wrong here👍
