Another if only thread 😂 .. but I’ll add to it ..

Poor positional play from AJ cost them not Garner

That was my feeling as well. AJ was caught flat footed and was too far back.

The run was a whole 25m...couldn't have slowed down..

only thing he could have done is straightened and trampled Gutho ..not his fault... agree

It just summed up our season ..
Alcoholic beverages consumed last night ...zero

West’s Tigers hangover ...massive

It was the exact same setup as last year vs the sharks in rd25. The exact pass. Its an absolute cracker from Brooks. Only difference is Garner put on a great step to beat the fullback 🙁

That is what we like to see from Brooks - I thought yesterday was his best game of the year. Excellent kicking game and produced a play that should have been the match winner. Crisp pass to Lawrence as well which gave Rowdy that extra bit of time to set up his man (he held it up perfectly as well).

He didn't even look to his unmarked man to his left... Bombed it as badly as Brooks kick on tackle 1

What was brooks thinking there was no one chasing

I dont know but Benji was crucified for kicking on the 2nd tackle 2 weeks ago against Souths. Have not read much today about Brooks dumb kick on the 1st tackle. Dont tell me he did not hear it because it is a piercing sound at the ground.

He was looking at them and was attempting to signal to them to chase the kick - but they didnt move. Its a shame, he was trying that game to change things up then you have MCK on his right who just stands still.

It just highlights our lack of match awareness and urgency. The Storm would have been all over that kick and ask Sterling or Gould the best way to really hammer home an advantage and that is to kick early.

Devils advocate, it was the last tackle if he didn’t see / hear the set restart call.
Probably explained why no one pushed forward expecting it.
Either way execution was poor. But not too much else that game was.
Last night I finally saw the competitive nature that Brooks supposedly has.

Lol no.

Garner had every opportunity to slow down, straighten and hand off to AJ.

In the end it was a good tackle by Gutho, which our regular fullback this season couldn't have made.

hes made a lot of good try savers this year and for souths last year just people on here have short memories and just wanna complain

We need a fullback that follows all of those plays.

Our fullback was playing five eighth

Our fullback playing 5/8 doesn’t follow when he plays fullback

Nofo was playing fullback and was injured in the last 15 minutes. He could barely move. He would have stopped the last try they scored if he was fit.

Not a comment on nofo, more that it’s what we have lacked all year.

that was the only fault I could put on Garner, that he didnt put the bumpers up and hit Gutherson square. It is something we dont do well, isolating and punnishing playmakers. We need angry, in an big way.

Don't blame Garner, wish he had tried a grubber or something however. Possibly could of ended up better.

Good line however, he had a good game.

True , but he wasn’t playing fullback , so hard to judge him when he’s on the other side of the field

He played there most of the year. I can’t recall ever seeing him support the middle.

Easy to judge off a season as opposed to a game

That play by Benji ended the season. He's done it a million times and rarely does it come off. Brooks did it in a nothing game. Still it was a terrible choice. He needs to learn not to follow in Benjis footsteps. We need a much better calm head. Not freakish low percentage plays.
