Brooks under pressure

Stop making excuses for him, he sucks and got outplayed by Nathan (again) couldn’t even stand up when we needed him most and panthers were playing poorly.

Anasta? Now I know you can’t be serious. Let’s see how he goes when the rest of the team is playing consistently and giving him half the level of support that’s required. Not saying he doesn’t have areas that need attention (like short kicking game), but I don’t think we’ve seen the best of him.

Outplayed? In what way? A field goal? It can’t be any other part of the game and Brooks don’t kick goals so I know it’s not that your referring to.

I mean honestly, if people want to have a crack at Brooks than fair enough, but to suggest he was outplayed by either Cleary or Maloney on Friday is absolute bullshit. The only half that outplayed him was on our side.

Brooks has to watch film of his first 4 games last year. He was outstanding as Madge has said he needs to take control. Even Farah is defering to Brooks.

He is potentially our best player by a fair distance. He will come good again.

Thats a cop out that the team hasn't given him half the level of support thats required. 2 things, firstly its his job to steer the team. Get the forwards running where he wants them and when he wants them get the backline set and make the plays. He needs to support the team hence why halves get paid the biggest money. Secondly the team has given him a better platform than ever, the team stats read for the us:

= 1st 54% possession
= 3rd completions 78%
1st for all runs 773
3rd for run metres 6492m
1st post contact metres 1982m

not to mention 1st in supports, 1st in decoy runs.

He has been provided arguably the best platform in the comp with which to attack from. The only area where we are piss poor is attacking stats. That falls solely on our spine and Reynolds showed he is up to it. To say we haven't seen the best of him … how much longer does he need? He isn't a rookie and has the rest of the team pulling their weight.

Are there any current halfbacks in the comp that have owned their team week in week out the past 18 months? You could say Cronk, maybe Green and Reynolds. Anyone else? Before you judge Brooks, watch other half backs closely. IMO, his output is above most of them. It's just a bloody hard position. Be thankful Pearce isn't our half. What a myth he is.

Looks like another halfback went to water with the game on the line. And you all carry on like Brooks is the only one. Try watching a few games that don’t involve us. You might learn something.

I dont get it. You hate the guy but defend him. Maybe you just hate some of us more.

"I’ve been saying forever his biggest problem is his personality. He’s scared of his own shadow. Halfbacks need to be able to be loud mouths, barking orders. Brooks doesn’t have that in him."

**You in your own words tell us he doesnt have it in him**. How then do you call out other Wests Tigers fans for saying the same lol

Are you misquoting me on purpose to suit your argument? I said he doesn’t have it in him to stand up and bark orders, not that he doesn’t have it in him as a player. His personality holds him back. That doesn’t mean I dislike him as a player. I’ve never knocked his ability.

Everyone says Brooks has no voice, he doesn’t yell and scream, he doesn’t take ownership. How do you all know??? We are not out there. At best we are 100m away or watching via TV. But the people that are there every training session, every game day say he is the leader on the field. His current coach and past coach both believe he is leading and/or is capable of leading the team. No disrespect but I’ll take their opinions and judgments over the emotional, biased, usually uninformed opinions of us posters (yes I include my own posts in that group).

Brooks just needs to slow down, get deeper and use his running game to open up his passing game. He is a one dimensional runner at the moment until he can pass accurately he is getting shut down.

No im letting your words tell your story.

The loss of his Nana 2 days before the game effected his performance R.I.P. Nana Betty

So if Brooks goes missing at the clutch moments, how was it that it was him that missed the field goals? He demanded the ball, received it (and missed unfortunately). Credit to him, he demanded it again, (and again, missed - unfortunately)! So, rather than 'going missing' after his first miss, he was man enough to demand it again and have another go. In my mind, that is taking responsibility. He blew the attempts, but at least he made them.
I'm not saying I am not disappointed in the performance of the team, but to lay it all on Brooks is to deny the seemingly endless dropped balls by Jennings, Thompson, Marsters and heaps of others. Any one of those guys holding the ball, we win. Simple!

He needs to play straighter. Every time he get the ball he is angling across field, taking room off his runners and allowing the defence to slide.

I have …Corey Norman for 2 weeks kicks 2 field goals to win ...there’s winners and there are losers!
