Don't want to start the bagging (….) but quite frankly on today's performance, I am scratching my head as to what role he plays in the team. I don't see him doing anything differently to what he has done in the last 18 months?

While our defence was massive today, our runners in motion was non existent often. There were plenty of times he tried to play at the line and the backs were still planted where they were as the ball was played.

Same scenario with any half breaks… it was the area of the game that had me on tilt for most of the 80.

The bottom line is Brooks is the only one basically in the club that has some real speed. Okay as a no7 today he was below par, but in future weeks he is probably the only guy who can match it with most in a foot race. My point is we have to keep with him at least in the short term. Maybe down the track we might need to look at Tui or Gamble but at present I will keep with Brooks

I thought Brooks had a good game defensively and just like most halves so for in round one, he also had some errors in his game.

That makes two of us, I'd like to think that I call it like I see it, when I was ripping into Benji in the past I think even he'd admit his form was pretty poor back then.
From what I've seen of him since at the Dragons and Broncos he's a different beast now. That's why I was happy and actually looking forward to having him back

Really angry that we didn't see him take the line on more often , he just doesn't realize how good his running game could be

Saving one is as good as scoring one. Brooks pulling down a runaway Ferguson from behind was a good effort after Taylor was steamrolled.
