OFFICIAL Bryce Gibbs [Discussion]

Not sure if this is a decision the club actually has to make, but if it was I'd keep Gibbs for sure.

Though I'm concerned about his body, as he seems to be missing more and more games each year through injury. I know he is not that old, but he really has played well below 100% for us a number of times, and this may be catching up with him now. Hope I'm wrong though.

I like Fulton, but he is too small. Smart player, and much more of a footballer than an athlete, but to me it is an easy decision. IMO Gibbs is close to the best defensive prop in the game, the amount of cleanup work he does is unbelievable, and not many people seem to notice it.

Agree, Gibbs can slot into the second row easily enough too and because of his extra size he's more effective at defending around the ruck.

Pretty sure Marshall and Fulton's credit is good. You never had an off day at work?

even if there is no truth to anything and there is no drama at all behind the scenes how can you not be disgraced by the garbage that has been served the last 2 weeks?…we're talking about a team who before the start of the yr were being labelled premiership contenders and when they get beat by a depleted team and only just beat another 1 thats not good enough...its attitudes like 'we accept they have bad dayz at work' that makes me think some supporters are satisfied to watch this team revel in medicority...they are professional footballers that excuse does not apply to them

Not a tough choice at all really Fulton is surplus we have enough backrowers that are better than Liam, so sorry Liam time to move on. Its not personal but room needs to be made for the many talented juniors coming through and Blair joining the ranks.

Fulton has really good attack and always works well on set plays with benji, and i'm pretty sure he is one of our leading tacklers. Gibbs is good because he has size, but he does not use it very well.

If I only had to 'work' for 24 days a year and turned up to 2 of them in a row with a terrible attitude then I dare say serious questions would be asked

What do you call training 10 months of the year a walk in the park, deadset think before you type 24 days a year :crazy

I think Gibbs is more of a lock than a second rower.
I have never seen him run at an angle or break the line at an angle.

Gibbs would either be my prop on bench or lock.

Gibbs would be my choice. Fulton has been great but if the last few weeks have shown me anything it is that we need more steel in the middle therefore Gibbs is my pick

You don't get what I mean. I know they train 3 or 4 days a week. However I work 5/6 days a week and have 1/2 sales presentations a week. This what the rest of the working week leads upto and how I make my money. It doesn't matter if I've been awesome for the rest of the week if I have a bad attitude and stuff the presentation up then it all means nothing. I know no matter what happens I NEED to be switched on and 100% focused for these. If I lost a few in a row I would be in enormous trouble.

Whilst the training is very important the players know that no matter what has gone on the whole 10 months of training means nothing unless they perform for those those 80 minutes, 24 days a year. I seriously don't understand how they could have a bad attitude for any single game. There is absolutely no excuse for it.

Easy choice, Gibbs.

Fulton is a decent player, but is doing the same as he was years ago. Gibbs howver is getting better with age.e

As stated Gibbs adds more size and aggression to the team, in fact he is one of our best forwards IMO and has been a good club man. Fulton has also been a good club man and has been an important part of the team but with the young forwards coming through it will be hard for him to hold down a position. Pity he isn't used more as a utility on the bench to cover backs and forwards not having seen him play in the backs I'm not sure whether this would be his go but it could be a way of keeping him providing the salary cap isn't the issue.

Thank you! I can't understand all the love for Gibbs? Honestly can anyone really say that if he was not on the team that they would want us to go after him specifically?? For mine (and I'll probably get flames for saying this but) Gibbs reminds me of Galloway. Both play well under their size and don't attack the line. Watch Galloway closely and you will see he pulls up before impact or simply hits the line flat. Gibbs is by no means anything special. Fulton is a dead set legend! He has a great attacking style of play and is fundamentally sound. I would keep Fulton over most of our forwards on the team. Gibbs is good for way too many penalties too, other teams don't fear him, they just let him bite and reap the rewards!

Chunky, keep an eye on the work Gibbs does this weekend. Watch his defence. No other front rower in the comp save as smany tries or line breaks that Gibbs does. He plays lots of minutes, and will take the ball up when some young front rowers dont want to (Fifita). Granted he isnt a great go forward man, but he does go forward ok, and what he lacks there he more than makes uo for in defence and workrate. He saves us a lot of points and we missed him bad against Souths when we were being carved up the middle

Sirro I totally see where your coming from, however I believe Fultons work rate is right up there too and potentially saves as many points as a result. I just think we would miss Fulton more due to his offensive production. I would like to keep both, I just think Fulton is worth more points to us. I also think Fultons future is at lock or super sub.

Maybe we should let some of the forum members go too. Both these players are under extended contracts & can't be forced to go anywhere.
