Jahream Bula #269

The Mole is saying today Bula gone , dirty with club for dumping wife , didn’t take long for That excuse to come out , apparently both loved it at tigers , so time will tell but I see it this way
Mosses as Manager X
Dump the wife X
Club not activated his deal. X
Not a good set up , I thought he would stay but I’m not sure now and we can’t have players who are on 70% in , they must be 101 % committed
I saw that and it looks like he got all that straight from here.
Dirty on the.club for not extending his missus... but his missus unlikely to get another gig elsewhere

I just don’t know who to believe, but if u look at the only facts we can believe are
1) we dumped his wife , maybe not a great move , maybe could have kept her , and let’s face it the women’s team is crap any way
2) we have not activated his clause , but we really don’t know where this is at
3) only this club could get its self in this position, we were willing to offer shit head GALVIN $1,000,000 yet we don’t want to give him $800,000 , ARE we missing something, have we lined up a replacement or we just going to shot ourselves in the foot again and lose another kid who we gave a start , last one we done that was PAPPA and how did that turn out
Galvins 1000000 isnt fact...its what richo wantsn you to believe...hes not that stupid

It was crazy dumb of us to cut his missus this year. Yes, from a purest point of view, if we want the womens squad to improve, then maybe it's the right move. But it's a unique opportunity to have been able to have much easier negotiations with Jareem and show our family first mantra. All it would have taken is a 1 year extension.

I hope they are 100% certain he'll re-sign; otherwise, the narrative will be so obvious, and our head office will look like they haven't learned how to play smart. The Roosters wouldn't have done this.

The women's team came last. If she's no good playing for the tigers, then maybe she just isn't good enough to be playing nrlw. The last thing we want to do it accommodate roster spots for players that aren't up for it to appease someone else. We start playing that game and then the Mays get upset that we don't sign Tyrone and so on... Fainus are different they are all NRL quality... And do we then keep both laulili brothers if one kicks on and another doesnt?
Bula has got to suck this one up

Haven't read the pages here but one of the podcasts mentioned that with the mutual option, if Bula activates it before nov1, he gets $800k and if we do he gets paid $900k. If no one does, he's unsigned for 2027.

End the Mexican stand off and do the deal at 850k. Get it done without dragging it.

I don’t think it was dumb at all. It’s just like everyone who wants to sign the mediocre May brother and the jailbird Fainu. It’s stupid signing players, not on merit, but based on who their siblings or significant others are, just to keep the ones we really want happy.

Why?

This is not supercoach. Sometimes you can (and have to) incentivise quality players to come to poorer clubs with intangibles.

It is actually very shrewd recruiting to find alternate ways to keep or attract quality players outside of contract value or length.

Well, if the club is using this philosophy to keep players why did they cut Bula's wife.
It would make more sense to retain her to transition an extension smoothly it makes you wonder if they even want him anymore for the following reasons.
1) They think he's not worth the dollars been asked for.
2) They have someone else in mind for 27.
3) They have had a gut full of Moses and his snake oil dealings and are going to cut all of his clients from the club Bula being the start of it.

It really is puzzling I hope the club is getting this right.

I'm sure the club is getting it right - it's the journos and some clowns on here who are talking bollocks!

I think this is just another example of league fans writing a novel from a title, Steve.

There's so much context, unknowns, etc on this type of situation that we've got very little understanding of exactly what's going on would be my assumption.

Let it play out I'd say.

One of the few things we do know, directly from the mouths of both sides, is that Bula loves the Tigers and the Tigers love Bula. Let's see what happens.

This club rarely gets signings right. When was the last time we got or kept a top player ? Only Luai at an inflated price. It was dumb to let Bula's wife go when she was playing for peanuts in a shit team. Could probably let another 10 go from ladies team. This just jeopardises retaining Bula imo.

Aaliyah knew she was on a one year contract and didn't make the grade...

We did get rid of more than 10 players - most of who had played NRLW... FFS!

Did we need to reisgn her until 2028 - given we have Jahream locked up in 2026 and 2027 under the club option?

His missus isn’t up to nrlw standard apparently . Well below from people who know the woman’s game.
This is all bullshit . He was promised to the dogs the moment the Galvin thing went down .
Unfortunately for the club you’d hope with Bula gone , that’s it for dealing with The Moses family ….. nope ! Our best junior in Godinet has him for a manager ….. Aparently with Bula the club only has itself to to blame as well. It was the club Ala sheens and McDonnell who out him onto Moses , when they were briefly back in charge .
This was inevitable and to be honest not even remotely worth getting upset about.
There’s a million fullbacks out there . For me , I’d be going hard for Brimson.
He is beyond wasted on the Gold Coast
