BURGESS IN TOWN

i wonder how he will go fitness wise.
At only 20 odd years of age the step up from ESL to NRL could be hard to do all year.

But with Taylor, Asotasi an Ross also there he will get some time on the bench

This guy will regret the day he signed his life away for 4 years of $$$$$$$$$$$$ but total misery and getting used to losing on a regular basis with this mob.
It wouldn't matter if Souths had the whole Qld State of Origin team they will never win a NRL premiership.
Hope he realises this after 10 rounds of 2010 season & requests a release to join Tigers & Souths have to pay him until his contract is up!!!!!!!!!!

I wonder where he will play?

Maybe Roy and Luke Stuart (I cant remember if he retired or not) up front, Taylor in the 2nd row, Sam at lock and Ross off the bench?

From what I understand Taylor will be played at lock as a fringe runner and extra prop as required, Ross to start with Stuart and Asotasi and Burgess into the back row.

This is what I have been told anyway

Either way Souths will boast the biggest pack in the comp which could prove good and bad. Teams will need to get up on them quick to stop their go forward or else they'll be in trouble. Dominate possession against them and their pack will tire badly I reckon.

a big pack means nothing if if doesnt work in tandem with the backline. this is a weakness that souths have, so the question remains can johnny lang change the souths culture. I have my doubts but i do believe in cinderella stories. just look at us.

One of my work colleagues runs group fitness sessions at the Wanda sandhills every weekend and Souths have been out there of late slogging it out (along with a few other clubs). He spoke to John Lang last week and said he is over the moon about coaching Souths and can't wait for the season to kick off. Lang was also doing his share of hill sprints with the players.
