Wests Tigers will look to consolidate on a strong Round 1 performance when they take on the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles at Leichhardt Oval on Monday, March 14.

Having shown their attacking prowess in a 34-26 victory over the New Zealand Warriors, Jason Taylor's side will take plenty of confidence into this week's match against a Sea Eagles side that went down to the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs in Round 1.

We've crunched the numbers to show just why confidence should be high this week, and found some fairly damning statistics in favour of the home side come Monday night.

4
Leichhardt Oval is typically one of the hardest grounds to travel to, and that's certainly the case for the boys from the Northern Beaches when they journey to the Inner West.

Wests Tigers have won four of their last five games against the Sea Eagles at Leichhardt — their last being a 34-16 win in Round 5, 2014, with Robbie Farah, David Nofoaluma, Chris Lawrence and Aaron Woods all scoring tries in the emphatic victory.

40
Speaking of Leichhardt Oval, Wests Tigers have won 40 of their 67 games at the ground in Club history — more than any other ground since their foundation in 2000.

After a stellar 2015 season that saw him take out Wests Tigers Members Player and Player's Player of the Year Awards, James Tedesco picked up right where he left off on the weekend, scoring two tries in his side's 34-26 win over the Warriors.

With an incredible strike-rate of 31 tries in 52 games, Tedesco has scored against all bar two tries in the NRL — one of which being the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles.

Can Tedesco chalk off another team in his list? After watching his performance on the weekend, it would take a brave soul to suggest otherwise!

5
Making the first journey away from home is always a tricky ask, especially in the case of this week's visitors. In the last eight years, Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles have lost five of their opening away games of the year by a combined scoreline of 133 to 64.

3
They caused plenty of problems on the right edge for the Warriors on Saturday, and David Nofoaluma and Kevin Naiqama will certainly be at it again come Monday night. The duo each have an excellent strike rate against the Sea Eagles — Nofoaluma has scored three tries in his last three games while Naiqama has three tries in his two games against them.

Wests Tigers have also won three of their last four Monday night games, which should hold Taylor's side in good stead when they take the field in exactly a week's time!

Means jack I reckon….we're going to be up against it come Monday night. Although we should be strenghthed they are going to smarting over their lacklustre performance in rd 1\. They are our bogie team as well. However a few tweakes from rd 1 and we could/should get the two points.

Well based on those facts I'm expecting the email that Manly are forfeiting this weekend any minute

I went through the stats they offered last week against the Warriors - interesting but super selective.

E.g. yes we are 4/5 against Manly at LO, but the game before last was in 2007, which was a loss. So you could also say we are 50% against Manly at LO since 2007.

We are 8/22 all-time against Manly (not including Northern Eagles) = 36.36%.

Of greater interest, I think, is we are 6/10 all-time at home against Manly and 3/4 since 2009\. If you had taken Tigers in the last 4 home games against Manly, you'd be up 77c for every $1.

That was one game, right?

I don't keep or have access to weather stats for games!

No we smashed the Storm in the rain that season as well as manly and I'm sure we beat someone else in shocking condition

Maybe the Cows , Nofoaluma scoring late …...

Yep Nofo scored right on the bell v the Cows. It was pouring down with prob less than 5000 crowd, but the atmosphere was brilliant.

Was that LO or CSS though ??

Im Praying for a Win this week,

Luke Brooks and Dene Halatau back should be a more stable team.

We got the MANLY(H), TITANS (A), EELS (H), SHARKS (H) then KNIGHTS (A)

Could be a very good start to 2016.

LO, 22-20 win Rd 11 2013\. Crowd was 7,155!

Until "that game" against the Cows at CSS last year, we had not lost to Cowboys at home since 2004, a run of 12 straight games (including "home" finals).
