CAFE PETITIONS FOR HEIGHINGTON TO MAKE NSW TEAM

The public push for Chris Heighington to play for NSW has led to a cafe in Five Dock running a petition to help get the Wests Tigers lock into the Blues team.

Following the victory over Canberra at Leichhardt Oval last Sunday, Wests Tigers Coach Tim Sheens and captain Robbie Farah pushed strongly for Heighington to make his NSW debut in Game 3 of the Origin series on July 7 at ANZ Stadium.

Sheens warned selectors Heighington has an English passport and if NSW don’t pick him soon, then England would. Farah rated Heighington as the club’s best forward for the past two years.

Heighington has always been one of the Wests Tigers favourite sons for his tremendous workload, dedication, and passion for the club. Fans love his friendly nature and warm personality off the field.

It is these qualities that have led to Bar Rizzo cafe in Five Dock running a petition since Monday. The petition is accompanied by photos in what is a makeshift ‘shrine’ in honour of Heighington.

Several pages have already been signed with many more expected to be filled before it gets sent to the NSWRL selectors on Friday afternoon.

The NSW team gets named next Monday night.

Wests Tigers supporters wishing to sign the petition can do so at Bar Rizzo, 157A Great North Road, Five Dock.

Good luck Heighno!

Hahahaha, I always walk past there on the way home. Always see Rhino + Moltzen etc there, a couple times a week.

He's not the only one with a shrine, as Mrs Duiguid has erected a shrine in my honour at Club Alf.

Hey Alf arn't shrines for when ya Dead…..better keep an eye on Mrs Duguid...

They won't pick Rhino....shame...

i reckon he gets picked, along with farah and lawrence if he pulls out a big game on fri night.

heighno for suree. his performance ALL year can't of gone unnoticed

Does Lawrence match up on Beau Scott tonight? Would be an interesting comparison if it happens against a so called "defensive" specialist

they'll pick him just so he can't go play for the poms… thats the unfortunate truth... they did the same with villasanti played for Aus once I think then gooone...

Although I think he should have been there from the get go this year...

Villa never played origin or had to make an eligibility choice. He made a tour for the roos on the back of the 2003 GF after 3 years in NZ. He was actually born here to an ex-pat Tongan mum and adopted to Canberra-based Spanish-Australians.

More Aussie than Kiwi despite his Warriors stint.
