If I remember correctly, those "gridiron style" stands were moved to Campbelltown from Lidcombe Oval.

Correct ! They were up the netball end of Lidcombe Oval

I think those stands originally where from Orana Park, moved to Lidcombe and then back to Orana Park when the Magpies moved to Campbelltown.

Incorrect.

They went from Canberra to Lidcombe to Campbelltown to Homebush baseball.

it is quite easy to see all the upgrades that are taking place from the top level of the multistory carpark at Wests Campbelltown… there is now going to be seats around the entire field the exception being the back half of the hills behind the posts... .... hope this helps,... any one passing through the area or visiting the leagues club can have a good view of the progress.....

I don't really know whether campbelltown stadium has that feeling about like leichhardt. for a bigger stadium, we just don't get the people rolling through the gates like leichhardt. when we played the cowboys earlier this year, ( at leichhardt ) we'd basically lost something like our last 6 matches but were still able get 18 000 through the gate. I remember our first game of the year was at campbo, but we only had about 14 000?!?! that's nothing for a first round match!! anyway if campbelltown is undergoing construction and we have 4 games there next season, i'm confident it can be just as spiritial as leichardt

Not very Objective of you…....Rd 1 v Raiders Monday night 17392 2nd highest MNF crowd of the year All Teams.....the week before the Cowboys game we thumped Souths 54-20....Roll on Sunny Sunday Arvo at Leichhardt.........All three Grades.....It was fantastic........

You must have been thinking of round 3 against the Rorters at the WSFS....14426 on a Friday night....Hmmm both teams home ground........Wonder what we would have got if this game was at Campbelltown or Leichhardt.......

Oh Yeah we get to find out this Year......... :sign:

you dont sound too objective to me your stats are wrong it was the second highest mnf game of the year against a canberra side who in round one were the spoon favorites and it is a team that do not draw well if anything it was a statement for more games at campbelltown.

I thought that Monday night game (Canberra) was a great atmosphere and helped to lift the players. We were struggling in that game at times. Same with the Newcastle game. That Sunday afternoon I felt that the whole place got right behind the team. Just hope that Leichhardt and Campbelltown are overflowing with Tiger fans every time we play at one of those grounds this year.

I love Campbelltown Games… best atmosphere.....
good crowd....
And the whole Campbelltown Area identifies well with Wests Tigers being Their team... cant go anywhere without seeing people dressed in Wests clothing....
but I do think that the leauges club next door could show its colours a bit more, dont get me wrong I think it is a really nice club but it would benifit from a bit more memorabilia to show it actually is Western Suburbs Leagues Club... such as a display cabinet or something similar to Wests Ashfield....

They have a display cabinet. You walk right past the room in which it is in as you enter the club from the rear carpark. On you right.

Yes it is a good recent addition but I think they could also improve by showing magpie games on tv especially definitely on match days.good you imagine watching a memorable magpies victory at the club before the big game maybe even afterwards for those who dont mind a late one.The club is a good one and seems to be getting better all the time I live in the city and im still a member I never forget where I came from(the glorious western suburbs)

I have to admit, it sadens me that the club has basically decided to ignore its association with the the Magpies. I know they have had a falling out with Wests Ashfield, but to throw out such an important part of their history really saddens me.

well i guess you saved me the trouble

Interesting to see they painted the supporting beams on the old Western Stand Yellow to match the Eastern Stand.

the atmosphere at the canberra game was fantastic.

i got to the ground at about 615 and it was basically empty. by 645 it was barely half full. but then come kick off it was packed, i couldnt believe the surge in the 10-15mins before kick off.

the atmosphere about 10 mins into the second half when we began our comeback was awesome

Why was there pads on the posts?
Had some team been training there?
Jnr trials?

Depending on when the photos were taken, i believe the waratahs trained at the ground a few weeks ago.. the pads on the posts might be up because of that?

Hey, does that sqaure bracketing type thing in the background represent the possibility of have a new big screen installed?
