Can Heleta be our Konrad Hurrell?

He looks to have the same build and he will not make First grade at fullback.

Can he turn his hand to centre??

No.

But with a strong off season he can be a better version of Sam Perret.

Has he got the speed for a First grade winger?
He is not that tall, so I would be concerned about the high ball….happy to be proven wrong.

He appears to have the skills for a centre and I feel we need someone to partner Simona.

Helena played all his junior football in the centres. I never thought he was make as good a fist of fullback as he has. He is obviously a good all round athlete.

I can't see him playing first grade at fullback, but Im sure he can prove me wrong again.

Heleta is fast enough.

Yeh he's more of a centre rhan anything. Mainly played left side coming through so not sure if he could adapt to the right. I wouldnt mind seeing Watson play left centre with Simona outside him on the wing.

I would have gone with that idea earlier in the season but I think Simona is starting to look dangerous again at centre. He's made a few good breaks in the last month or so. Given Heleta has kept his spot at fullback in reggies I assume he's doing a decent job with the high ball, so it might be worth trying him on the wing outside Simona first and then switching it up if necessary. The only memory I have of Simona under the high ball is when he's been playing fullback at international level and it's not a good memory…

If he was given an opportunity I don't think he would let anyone down, he is much better defensively than JAC & Rankin.

Sounds like our man. Hopefully he is able to get a go.

Koni is a mini beast, Heleta not yet.
Heleta was very good yesterday but tacklers werent falling off like 10 pin .. Koni does make that happen when at his best

I suspect there'd be a second tier issue with him playing firsts this year.
Good player, but he's too short for the back three IMO. Good chance of making it as a centre though.

Watched him the past two week and he has looked solid a and classy. Does everything right, seems to have time and good football awareness.

Interesting to see whether he can handle the step up but looks much better equipped than some others we have given ago to over the past few years.

Excuse my ignorance ….but who's Koni?

Hurrell has 10cm and 10kgs on Heleta. Much bigger. Heleta is more Matt Utai - 172 cm and 91kgs.

I'd start playing Heleta at wing in intrust cup to see how he goes defending and taking contested bombs in attack and defence. He's been excellent under the high ball at fullback but you often get more space at the back than on the wing.

Much quicker than Nofo so if he can handle the kicks in defence than i'd have him in first grade. Not sure what the 2nd tier cap space is like but i'd give him a go towards the end of the season.

He played right centre at Keebra, and in first half of his first season of NYC so that wouldn't be a problem. I'd be happy enough to have him replace either Kevvy or Nofo.

The main issue is defence….
I'd like to see him playing Intrust Cup in the centre for the next few games to see how he handles it.

At the moment, Kev is a liability and looking forward, he has to be replaced.
I've been watching Watson for the last few games and I reckon he should be given a go at centre to see if he can make it.

I'm concerned about his height for a winger as we know the tall timber just comes over the top of "small" defenders and know matter how good a small player is, they just get swamped by a tall attacking winger.

Non-existent I'd suggest. We had to get dispensation from the NRL to play Liddle. So unless we geta stack of injuries and/or write a really nice letter to the NRL it's unlikely.

He's either talking about the Lord's Resistance Army dude currently holed up in the DRC or more plausibly he's referring to Konrad Hurrell who sometimes goes by the nickname Koni.
